I am very very upset, inconsolable, that I have to wait until JULY!!!! for season 4 of Breaking Bad. I watched all 3 season in 3 weeks..now I have a void of TV series to keep me going... is there ANY tv series which is as good as BB and The wire (generation kill) that can tie me over untill Season 4 of BB starts?

The Shield. First 3 season are fun, like watching the Thing clobber Mexican drug dealers, Glenn Close ruined the 4th for me, but 5,6 and 7 are some of the best TV ive ever seen. I rewatched them all recently and I enjoyed it as much second time.

My gf is a pyscho the rapist, she watched In Treatment but couldnt get through it as she hated all the clients.

Breaking bad and the wire are hard to top.

There's mad men, which is not quite as good, but good enough. After that, I don't know.

If you want to go on a tangent, neon genesis evangelion and ghost in the shell: stand alone complex are amazing series that will take you down the 8-hour-just-one-more-episode rabbit hole if you let them.. (there's a reason they're 9.0 and 8.8 on IMDB).

BUT The Overlook keeps saying it's a complete lazy dump truck of shit now. He says that about every show/movie ever BUT still!

When The Wire ended I was a wreck... felt as if I was in a 5 year long, loving relationship with the perfect lady then she just leaves one day and all I am left with are the recallable memories of what once was. I found myself just staring off into space, a lost soul with McNulty's "What the fuck did I do?" echoing in the back of my mind.

Breaking Bad is a good show and all, but hasn't nearly hit me on as many levels as The Wire has.

Wow. You obsessed? I think for two seasons, Breaking Bad was nothing short of pure genius. Then, for the third season, it spiraled into ratings bait and became a tedious slog. So I don't think you've accurately represented my thoughts on Breaking Bad, but it was a nice try.

i enjoyed it ALOT

its defo a marmite situation tho

i know alot of people who just couldnt get into it, which i totally understand

I felt the same way. It was admittedly nothing spectacular, but it just...felt...right...just like the NOLA jazz that serves as the spine of the show. Steve Zahn annoyed the fuck out of me. I hope his character gets minced up in a wood chopper to start season two.

Completely agree about Breaking Bad, season 3 was the downfall, they knew the success of the show was on exploiting the chemistry between Walt and Jesse cooking meth in precarious conditions, running away from the DEA and the nosy wife while dealing with crazy drug leaders, which was all gone with the chicken guy so season 3 ended the way it did since the filler plots couldn't run any further.

just finished the first season of breaking bad.

MEH. why are you guys so crazy about this? how can you compare it to the wire?!? sopranos??? and even mad men is on a whole different level than this. this is almost exactly like weeds, only difference is that it tries to shock the viewer from time to time (ineffectively). i'm disappointed.

still, i'll give it another chance, continuing with s02 tonight.
