From RA:

Moritz Von Oswald Trio have another album in the works for Honest Jon's, entitled Horiztonal Structure.

Since they debuted last year with Vertical Ascent, the Moritz von Oswald Trio have enjoyed cult status among electronic music fans. Despite the avant-garde sound of their music, the outfit were a staple of electronic festivals in 2010, nabbing slots at Mutek, Unsound (New York and Poland), Club to Club and Dissonanze to name a few. In concert they've occasionally picked up high-profile members like Carl Craig and Francois K, but the core trio consists of Max Loderbauer (of nsi.), Sasu Ripatti (aka Vladislav Delay, Luomo), and of course Moritz von Oswald, partner to Mark Ernestus in two of dub and techno's most influential groups, Basic Channel and Rhythm & Sound.

Horiztonal Structures will be the group's third full-length in less than a year, following Vertical Ascent and Live In New York. The album will be preceded by a 12-inch called Restructure 2, featuring one new track and a remix by Mala. You can hear samples of that one right now over on the Honest Jon's website. Once again, the cryptic sleeve design comes from London-based DJ, photographer and label owner Will Bankhead.

Tracklist

01. Structure 1

02. Structure 2

03. Structure 3

04. Structure 4

Honest Jon's will release Horiztonal Structures in February 2011.

I loved MVOT's debut album and watched them playing live in my city.

honest jon's seems like an odd fit for this music.

why do you say that?

i am not familiar with this label's releases, at least the name doesn't recall anything, but i am happy to see the artwork's style has kept the same clean style and feeling.

i say that because i dont think honest jon's has released any other electronic music. it's mostly obscure world music (which i like).

Sorry for the bump, but I would say this is easily the trio's best release yet. I am impressed how quickly the band's sound has evolved and refined.
