Yes indeed :) So many of those mid-late 80s Pet Shop Boys 12" were amazing. They certainly were. The 12" remix/extended version was so much better back then. It'd usually be just that as opposed to an unrecognisable reworking by whichever flavour of the month. Sorry, I meant the vocals sound like they would be comfortable in a synthpop style, and synthpop always sounds like 80s music when I hear it...
