I recently did music for an online RPG and thought some of you might be interested in having a play through. it's got sort of a dark fairy tale vibe, pretty cool: http://tomirony.itch.io/the-hollow

These reviews give a pretty good idea of what you can expect:

It was put together in a month for a competition on video game story writing. Unfortunately it doesn't work in Chrome. if anyone has difficulty getting it to run and wants to play, PM me and I'll send you a download for the exe file.

Tom (who wrote it) wanted to make the soundtrack available too, which I'm into. The thing is, each track is about 1:30 and loops, so I was thinking it might be cool to have more fleshed out versions of some of them for the soundtrack. There will be something one way or another. Thanks for the interest, I shall keep you posted!

I'm interested in the game design process for this style of game.

Obviously you want to get immersed in the world and whatever, but you also want to keep the pace up. I'm wondering how much of a difference could be made by trying to make the text as scannable as possible, with line breaks and keywords and stuff.

Well, I'm just glad the pacing is slow enough that the music gets a chance to loop on each level. Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! The main theme was composed and performed on a kalimba, and the rest of the themes were sequenced from samples of the kalimba, pitch shifted and whatnot.

The only other sound is piano, on the second to last theme. Apologies to any kalimba purists out there.

The soundtrack has been released on bandcamp. Each track has been slightly embellished upon to keep things interesting as a listening experience. There are 5 tracks, roughly 12 minutes in length. Download for free here: https://outoftheloop.bandcamp.com/album/the-hollow-soundtrack

Also, holy shit --the game has had almost 5000 downloads!
