Watched it on the 26th when it came out on digital - the movie is just as stunning as the first time I watched it. Instant classic for me.

Granted, there are some serviceable moments, but Lucas was really bad about it during the prequels. TFA didn't have any moments that I can recall that stood out, but The Last Jedi has a really egregious one:

See, I'm worried they are going back and retconning stuff for the sake of it - the Falcon has never had moving "mandibles" in any of the movies (so far) so if they do introduce this, they are going to also explain how they get stuck in an open position. Almost as bad as Jango Fett hitting his head on the access hatch of Slave I to explain where the dent in Boba Fett's helmet came from in Attack of the Clones (Episode II). FFS, it even says "Kessel Run Millenium Falcon" on the box! So they're going to do/show that as well. This movie may be just a bunch of fanwank at this rate.

I think the battery replacement program is for iPhone 6 or higher - not sure how that affects the SE, since it's basically a 6 in a 5/5S shell.

TFA made 2.066 billion worldwide - Avatar is still king with 2.74 billion worldwide. TFA did beat Avatar for the highest grossing domestic film ever.

wut? the last jedi or the force awakens? last jedi made half that domestically. they'll be lucky if it makes 100 million in china, and will probably end the run with 1.5-1.6 billion. that is not the highest grossing movie ever. Sorry, meant TLJ - and it has crossed 1 billion worldwide, but has yet to open in China - got my facts scrambled.

TFA has crossed the 1 billion dollar mark domestically. Opens in China 5 January. I bet this becomes the highest-grossing movie of all time just based on the reaction and press it has gotten up to and since release.

I am overjoyed with my iPhone X - I never realized how intrusive and awkward a physical home button is - Apple should have ditched it a long time ago. I find swiping up totally intuitive, and the various gestures were easy to learn quickly. The screen is gorgeous, and the responsiveness (of course, it's a brand new phone and I am coming from an ageing iPhone 6 Plus) is incredible for productivity - I can bang out emails, respond to texts, and multitask like never before. Like @phling said, Face ID is amazing - so easy to just look at the screen to unlock apps (now Apple just needs to make a toggle for the "swipe to unlock" so it can go straight to the home screen). Apple Pay is a bit awkward - you have to double-click the power button on the side, and then look at the phone - I find myself awkwardly tilting the phone to look at it while holding it near the payment sensor. Might just be a adjustment period, but I found the Touch ID for Apple Pay easier since you're already holding the phone near the payment sensor to begin with.

I've been meaning to get this on PS4 - I'm currently playing Arkanoid vs Space Invaders on iOS - really fun mashup of the two games, and some really cool gameplay concepts in it. I also like the unlockable characters that can give you boosts at certain times.

This is a fan-inspired backlash - people don't like the fact it did something no other Star Wars movie has done, and despite the fanservice in the movie (which I thought was unwarranted), the "true" Star Wars "fans" are rallying against this movie and the director, going as far as making threats of bodily harm and encouraging suicide. FFS.

I... liked it. Perfect? No. Worthy of toppling Empire? Fuck no. I need to see it again and see what a second viewing does for my opinions.

Very real possibility I bet so - thing is, nobody just decides to molest a underage girl - this was something he had been lusting after and contemplating, and finally did what his sick urges compelled him to do. If she wasn't the first, she certainly wasn't the last. If this was some sad, lonely introvert with no friends or family, I could almost understand why they'd be compelled to do something like this, but this guy seemingly had it all - family, power, money, respect, celebrity, etc. and threw it all away over some stupid urge he probably could have controlled if his backward religion hadn't guilted him out of whacking off for fear of the Devil entering him.

What a bunch of hypocritical bullshit - dude realized he'd been outed, and couldn't deal with the idea that everything he built up around himself in life was all going to come tumbling down and his professional and personal lives were over. That, or there was much worse stuff yet to be discovered, and he decided despite all his hypocrisy, to off himself and frankly do everyone a favor.

100% agree with you, Lopez (chez SHOCK!) - Honestly Stranger Things could have ended with S1 and it would have been better for it. Should have made this an anthology series as originally planned, and told a totally different story.

Responses to the world premiere are overwhelmingly positive; I have a gut feeling this might beat Empire as the best Star Wars movie (or at least be on equal footing). Just watched Empire last night - still amazing.

I downloaded that when it was free on PSN; still haven't fired it up to play it. Tried to play Ground Zeroes but just couldn't hold my interest.
