  1. HOLY FUCK. Somebody send him one of those plastic overlays like the ones they use in fast-food restaurants.
  2. So some dumb schmuck buys the import version to get the scarf and pays way more than they should have for a game they can't even play unless they have a PAL Wii U...
  3. This is precisely why the game works for me, I'm level 50 and I've only just beaten a second boss (the one in the forest). The whole appeal of this game for me is that no dungeon is repeated, sure you might come across the same room from time to time, but it's never a part of the same dungeon, so it's pretty easy to keep jumping back in without growing tired of it. Fuck yes - I spent way too much time this weekend playing Rogue Legacy. Fun as HELL! Was playing a little bit more of it last night and started to enjoy it. I still think it's a cheap game. Like, there's no way you could pick it up, play it, and be able to beat it on first sitting. It has the word ROGUE in title and is hyped up as a ROGUE-LIKE platformer, but it feels more like a cheap time wasting mobile game to me. where you have to grind away and waste hours on it to level up and actually be able to get anywhere in the game. Compare it to other randomized games like FTL/Spelunky where, provided you had the knowledge and game mechanics learnt, you could theoretically install the game fresh and beat it on first playing. Roguelegacy requires grinding. it all just feels a little cheap and time wasting. not entirely fully fleshed out. and they used the randomized ROGUE elements to appeal to the roguelike craze that's taken over the indie scene atm. I mean, i'm not arguing that it's not fun because, I'm playing it atm and it's growing on me and it's fun enough. and you guys are clearly enjoying it so there's no argument there. but god it feels cheap to me. (oh! speaking of cheap! the traits in the game feel a little cheap as well. like, colour blindess, short sightness. upside down vision? they all just feel like filters thrown in for the same of throwing in filters that don't add anything to the game other than being a hindrance to the gameplay. I don't mind the odd thing thrown in to mix things up a little bit, but being expected to play through the game without having sight of HP metre or with the entire image being flipped vertically seems ridiculous and again just thrown in to kill you and make you start again. :| (don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled - he does the entire game in 18:09) - locking down the castle is the key to success
  4. It's the reason I'm not buying a PS4 anytime soon, Nintendo has a much better lineup for the next year. wat Apart from Bloodborne, there's nothing exciting coming out that's been announced. There's about 20 games I want to play for Wii U. Does Wii U even have 20 games that are out now? What about No Man's Sky? Hohokum? Destiny? I'm sure I am forgetting a ton of other upcoming games. The only games I can think of coming for Wii U that look interesting are Yoshi's Wooly World, Splatoon, and Zelda, which to be honest, won't be out until late 2015 if not 2016 - I can easily see them pushing it back to Spring 2016 - I certainly hope not though! I don't think it will be anywhere near as successful as Nintendo hope it will. All this throwing DLC at the problem certainly won't help, but Musou titles have been around for years and failed to set the gaming world alight. Granted, most of those existing titles have been steeped in Asian folklore/historical characters (and more recently, Gundam) - but unless you're an absolutely die-hard Zelda fan, I think most people will soon get bored of the repetitive hack 'n' slash, no matter how many Zelda mainstay characters Nintendo include. Nintendo expect this to be a system seller? Can't see how - even Mario Kart 8 didn't have the impact they hoped it would. At this point, Smash Bros Wii U will probably be the only system-seller for the foreseeable future, until Zelda finally comes out

  6. maybe it was a dat marked polygon window because it was used as a master for a planned polygon window single that got as far as having a test press Confirmed this was a test pressing made around the time of the 2001 reissue, not from 92-93, so the WARP EP catalogue # fits. Odd they would do a test pressing considering SOSW wasn't reissued on vinyl - the tracks only appear on the CD version. I guess there were plans for a vinyl EP of these tracks, or they just pressed some up for promotional purposes. Apparently there is a Windowlicker test pressing that is different than the retail release - would really like to know if it is different than any of the released versions of Windowlicker (US/UK/Japan), or something unique to the test pressing.

  8. You did? Wow, sorry! Perhaps if you had provided a bit more info/proof at the time... That's pretty hard to fathom they would assign it a random EP catalogue number (WAP 146)... still, stranger things have happened. Why would Rephlex do a Polygon Window release? I suppose it's possible, but considering SOSW/Quoth just came out on WARP (at the time), I would suspect any follow-up to it would also be on WARP. As I said, Richard himself told me, unprompted, that he had to contribute two tracks for the SOSW reissue for WARP and they were literally the first two tracks he pulled off a DAT marked Polygon Window - even made a point to say not to tell WARP (at the time). This was when I was in regular contact with Richard, so unless he was baking up some porky pies, I see no reason for him to say such a thing. Again, though - Richard. Also, if it was a Rephlex test pressing, why have a WARP EP catalogue # etched into the runout? So what's the other release that's so unbelievable? I'll listen this time, promise!
  9. Question is, was this a planned follow-up EP to Quoth/SOSW, or an EP planned around the reissue of the SOSW CD, which included this track and Redruth School? Richard told me at the time the SOSW reissue was scheduled to come out that the tracks were "the first two I found on a DAT marked Polygon Window" at the time... the catalogue number (WAP 146) is not released, and chronologically, that would have been around 2001, when the SOSW reissue came out... The mystery deepens!
  10. I think their concern is genuine... mixed with gobs of jealousy and butthurt
  11. I thought I read somewhere it was an acetate. Joyrex would know? Vinyl test pressing - too many were made for it to be an acetate.
  12. I wonder if the new Raspberry Pi could run a PSX emulator...
  13. I was considering starting a 'you're buying a game twice and falling into their trap!' debate, but that's a pretty good deal. I shall hold off on that debate for another time. *reseals can of worms* Don't get me wrong - I agree completely - I think they should have given a discount to PS3 owners. Not like they would have lost money - in fact, they may have made more overall since I imagine a lot of people probably won't buy this because they already played it, and the price is a negative factor.
  14. For folks considering The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 - Gamestop US (and EB Games in Canada) is running a promotion where you bring in your PS3 The Last of Us game as a trade-in and save 25$ off the price of TLoUR on PS4 - apparently it's a little-known offer that doesn't officially start until the 29th (probably to get suckers to buy it at full price first), and runs until August 2nd.
  15. Actually the Destiny beta was really good - I wouldn't consider Destiny a FPS at all - more like a MMORPGFPS.
  16. Do it. I ordered mine last night. I can't wait to play it again. Yeah, I had fun with it on PS3 - the upgraded graphics and the included DLC makes me think it will be worth 50 bucks to experience again.
  17. Debating on whether to download The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 today...
