  1. i immediately understood the length of elseq songs. it seems natural with the 2 laptop generative set-up. i think you would have to end up composing songs that jam out a bit. i always considered that we're lucky as fuck to get shit like that, and that sean and bob saw that the correct thing to do was to let the people hear it. i never found them overlong. i dropped NTS and elseq (minus all end) into a playlist and put it on shuffle today. it's basically jesus
  2. it's called descending or a/descending and it's a preview of a much longer track.
  3. "home listening" from the rubber beats comp is so good
  4. it's a good one. it follows six of eight well. it follows xflood tho... well. edit: yeah great track, quite a meticulous one. shuffle went from six of eight to gonk tuf hi one time and i was like "oh what the fuck". xflood seems pretty solid as a stand-alone. it's almost like they stuck it in between those two just to make sure session 2 would wreck people
  5. it's a good one. it follows six of eight well. thanks! all end: theremin monk wind ritual in the abandoned collider cavern on the planet formerly of the old ones, featuring behemoth tuba player in nieghboring cavern 14 miles away, and other special guests. gorgeous and pummeling, as others have said. only now listening at volume. haven't even heard on monitors yet, just some decent computer speakers. very much looking forward to bathing in this from monitors. i want to choose where i live based on the ability to blast NTS from monitors often.
  6. folded laundry to 9 chr0. best laundry folding of my life
  7. i think i'm going to spend a lot of time shuffling through NTS 1-4 AE_LIVE + elseq 1-5 on shuffle was great go-to play list combining all 3 will be 22 hours this bleepstore sure has worked out well. the catalog is one of the coolest things in music history
  8. hm. i have been meaning to finish the book and listen to that interview. will be interested to reach those parts
  9. i'm surprised to hear you say that. i follow the interviews and i've not picked up on anything like hatred. more like ribbing. it's a creative collaboration and i think maynard appreciates that the other guys are entitled to do what they're going to do. collaborative writing is inevitably going to be frustrating, so undoubtedly some head butting occurred. there have been indications that maynard thought about walking from tool, but i thought that was more about how he puts himself out there to an audience that can be insensitive. like someone throwing a water bottle at his face during WFM on one of the first nights they did it live. i would be surprised if it seems like maynard mailed it in. it will likely be very different than what a lot of people will be hoping for, just because people will be hoping for stuff just like eulogy, 46&2, the grudge, and WFM. maynard pretty consistently reserves the right to do what he wants.
  10. icari is like a lounge version of some part in AE_LIVE
  11. imagine being a random NTS listener and this is how you discover autechre
  12. only listened to nts 03 on headphones with bad connections but it struck me as a rather good slab of autechre. i'm very glad i'm going to have these on CD for the car. bonkers
  13. all these people saying 2 > 1. i feel like it's not fair to 1. i just want to say, i like NTS 01 more. of course both melt the word "ridiculous" into an odd phase of reality.
  14. thought i heard one piano note at one point. heh
  15. i think these are kind of meant for speakers. i listened to session 2 a few times on headphones and didn't even know what i had until i played it on speakers. then i saw what people were talking about.
