4x 2 hours residency... so probably a new 8 hrs long album. Makes sense: Exai 2 hrs -> elseq 4 hrs -> Twelb 8 hrs... in a few years we're going to have a week long records.

Just joined the listening sesh and what I'm hearing atm sounds somewhat super-minimal... is it really Ae?

It's fun album. I like it. It's not the best thing ever but I enjoy listening to it.

Eh, nope? yeah, last time i checked the only thing picked up in the beginning of gantz graf is the beginning of gantz graf in very low volume... (edit: also didn't they mention gantz was in fact from around ep7 times?) Yep, it was mentioned during the AAA sesh.

Fingers crossed. I need those. I usually listen to post LP5 stuff when I'm in the mood for some 'chre but I rarely listen to most of the pre LP5 material. I mean I have a huge issue with Amber. It's among my least favourite Ae albums (but Piezo is masterpiece). I think it has something to do with its dated sound. For some reason Incunabula sounds pleasantly dated to me (if it makes any sense). Maybe Amber sounded so advanced for its time back then that it's in sort of a grey area between modern and old. For the same reason I'm not huge of a fan of Chiastic Slide or Tri Repetae (I respect TR for other reasons though). Amber/Chiastic Slide/Tri Repetae are dated albums but not vintage while Incunabula has this strong vintage sound/feel I enjoy. I believe in some ten years or so I won't be having this problem and all mentioned records will fall under the same umbrella with Incunabula. So I'll be most likely still getting these on wax while they're available just to be safe.

Boards of Canada Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest

And I'm not usually into retro music - in the sense of new artists making vintage sounding music. I don't see a point in that approach. Because when I want to hear 80s sounding music or any other decade, I go to the music that was actually released in the given decade. But Tomorrow's Harvest is for some reason different. Like it isn't actually imitating anything specific - I know many would disagree. -

I bought a new cartridge to my turntable (all the music suddenly has some bass and even treble!) and have been spinning vinyl I haven't heard in a while and gosh, this album is just something else. They've nailed that 80s VHS-esque sound design better than anyone before (or after).
