Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete
Hugh Mughnus replied to canzoniere vaticano's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Sorry, it was a bit of a drunken rant. It could honestly be one of those things where years later it clicks for me and it's amazing (like Autechre did a few years back), but for the time being it's cringeworthy. From a sound design standpoint it's fairly cool, but I don't find the tracks cohesive or anything. Very ADD. I'll refrain from commenting anything negative just for the sake of, sorry if I offended anyone. Edit: the execution of what I've heard so far of this record and r+7 somehow sounds pretentious, that bothers me too. Like it's some kind of higher art project rather than just someone trying to make music... I don't know.- 1,361 replies

Let's point our fingers at the dozens that are pretending this is some sort of "new parameter" and laugh. This is embarrassing. Wow I set an arpeggiator to random and played some wildlife noises over it, I'm fucking beethoven all the sudden. right. I've really tried over the last few years to figure out the appeal to this guy and I simply don't understand. It's not for me, I suppose.- 1,361 replies

I've been following the OPN threads for a few years here. And I have to say I'm completely disappointed just like with r+7. This sounds like completely pretentious shithop. I'm really confused as to what you all are hearing, I can't hear any redeeming qualities. I'm not trying to be a POS fucktard. I legitimately can't hear what you guys are hearing. This is the most neckbeardy, pretentious marketing approach to setting the reason matrix sequencer on random that I've ever seen...=/ This is complete non-music. Edit: sorry, not "non music". Just "music" with a new set of parameters. lol- 1,361 replies

Never heard of cassis! Alright, mission of the week is to find some blackcurrant cordial and possibly (might be hard to find) cassis. I've got it on the missus' radar too (she's great at tracking stuff like this down).

I'm not actually sure if Ribena is available here, I imagine it is (but I've never seen it). Definitely not a popular drink if it's available. I can't honestly say I've ever had something with blackcurrant? Sounds like it's a UK thing? I'm going to see if it's available here soon. Ribena + vodka?

Lol the fact that ribena was until 2013 produced by glaxosmithkline makes me wary of it.

Is marijuana use an unspoken rule for posting on WATMM?
Hugh Mughnus replied to a topic in General Banter
Be careful with edibles, they're deceptive in my experience. Typically I'll have a cookie or something and it takes a while for it to hit, so I'm tempted to have a quick toke or eat more. Bad idea lol. I get a lot more of a tactile, body high with edibles. I don't get paranoid from edibles like I do smoking. Hope you have fun with it! -

Why is that? It was just really hard to think straight. I would keep forgetting what I was just thinking about and trying to say. It was mostly frustrating. But I suppose if I were just doing it alone and watching a movie or something, it would be fine. Possible you dosed too high for your first time? -

Yes indeedly doodly, one of my favourite stouts. I've never tried this. It's on my radar now though, looking to see if I can order it from zyn.

ergh... I just took inventory of all the beer I have . I guess I'm set for awhile... I didn't realize I was hoarding this much. The ones in orange are in the fridge, we're going to work on them today. Anyone else have a hoarding problem with beer or wine? Anyone wanna come over and help me with these? haha

wow those are absolutely epic views. Was that a full 8 days in the wilderness then?

Glad you enjoyed yourself. When I take a lower dosage most of the time I just sort of feel like a real lively type of stoned. Nothing really profound about it. I can have very productive meditative experiences with marijuana given the right circumstances, it's kind of like my go to tool for working through things. It's not just about having visuals on higher dosages, it's about disruption, catharsis, and inspiration. There is a novelty to bending reality for a bit that is really entertaining and beautiful though. On the subject of dosages, fuck pachanoi man, bridgesii or bust. I low dose fairly regularly (average maybe once a month, not sure if that's considered regular?) for the auditory aspect. Quite different than weed in those regards, at least for us. Same thing for us too, we just feel really lively, lots of positive energy and vibes with a low dose. I find with higher doses we still have that, but there's a short period of accompanying paranoia or dread as well (mostly during the come up).

I really like that track. Much more laid back and moody than I was expecting. Has me really excited for this release. I wonder what label the album will be on?

How does the World view America these days?
Hugh Mughnus replied to Rubin Farr's topic in General Banter
All good points. Particularly the completely fucked up situations they're running from. Pretty much anything is better than where they are fleeing. I'm all for helping I guess it's just my sense of despair that lots of these people won't get proper opportunity even when they come here that's colouring my responses. RE your last paragraph, I wouldn't make that bet with ya as I know you would win that one. We'll buy each other a beer anyway just cause. haha -

@chen I still live here in Alberta and see the murders and read about them in the paper and see the perps pics and I'm just telling you a large chunk of them are of Asian and Somali descent. I'm here and I live it. Have been for 26 years. more maladjusted people = more crime. refugees who find themselves in a country that isn't their own, and who don't make a big effort to integrate, will be maladjusted. Actually this is exactly what I'm saying. Not disagreeing with this in any way shape or form. I've also acknowledged that Canada's poor handling of immigration contributes significantly to the level of refugees and other immigrants "adjustment". I'm sorry that you found the wording "coarse grained" however in the context I used it it's fairly accurate. Edit: maybe I was too blunt about it? -
