  1. Oh I know! I hope theres tons after this one too. What I meant is I'm happy to see others still so interested in jungle. =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNO7-OYLI9U
  2. Sure you can! Theres this one stuff called cherry jack. It's 11$ for 4 liters.
  3. I made the same thread a couple months ago! I'm down to do it again though. Love me some jungle.
  4. hey i cant pretend to have taste, my go to wine is 11 bucks for a 3 litre jug i exude pure class (i also really like rieslings) but yeah some wines are best at a certain age, beyond which they break down in various sciencey ways and get less yummy zin is one of them iirc I have been known to drink cherry wine out of a plastic jug.
  5. well the guy spent 90 bucks on rum so i kind of figured the latter category i p much just drink wine anymore anyway The fact that it did not meet my expectations in terms of flavour and my posting of it as a first world problem means I have some degree of "taste" now doesn't it? But yeah, wine is good. I had a wine related first world problem recently. I had a decent bottle of zinf (45$ or so) that was supposed to be drank between 2006-2011. Now I'm thinking maybe it wasn't as good as it should have been because I drank it in 2012... I don't know how those things work. If it's in a sealed bottle, does the quality degrade somehow? Why would it have a best drank before xxxxxxxxxx date?
  6. It's called flor de cana... it was alright but to be quite honest my friend brought me a bottle from cuba that costed $2.50 that tastes better. Granted rum is of course going to be cheap in Cuba, so maybe my point of reference is biased..? I almost always drink the more expensive spirits straight/no mix, or with a bit of club soda to mellow out the harshness. I have "scotch rocks", little rocks you freeze so that you don't use ice and dilute the flavour! As for scotch.. I prefer a double malt, but I don't know much about scotch so maybe I'm scotching wrong. lol
  7. ...thats probably because its rum and rum is for rum and cokes god if you're gonna spend nearly 100 loonies on liquor get a single malt or some shit or just get 50 40 oz bottles of olde english and have a drunk month. yeah I am regretting it quite thoroughly. I thought I would splurge and give it a shot but... it wasn't worth it. =(
  8. This rum isn't quite as good as I would expect it to be for 89$CAD....
  9. you sound like a tea party member taxed enough already good point, I should be okay with half of my money being taxed if your government provides things like free healthcare & free higher education, it should be ok. if they don't, you're just getting fucked over, innit. i think more importantly than that, this is stupid first world problems—chunky must have missed the thread title. but no, no free health care or anything. 48% just taken out for "payroll taxes". Theoretically you should get most of that back at income tax time. The way they do taxes is based on an annualization of your cheque. For example, if you have 26 pay periods and the cheque was 10000$, they tax the 10000$ cheque as though you'd make 260000$ a year, even though your other cheques might only be 2500$ every 2 weeks instead of 10000$....So when you go to do your income taxes, the % you were taxed on the 10000$ cheque that is more than your average tax rate will be refunded... Edit: you probably know that already, I shouldn't have typed that up. But the bright side is you get it back!! =)
  10. girlfriend in house = more household income = more money to spend on equipment. consider it. I live on my own in a one-bedroom flat. There is no room for even a girlfriend to live with me, especially considering the amount of gear I already own! I'd rather live in a sharehouse (which I'm considering even though I like my privacy). Plus, convenience is hardly a reason to be in a relationship, though it's pretty IDM to think that way.. Lol you're right of course. I wasn't being serious . It'd be cool if you could find a couple like-minded people and share a place like you said. Find some others that like making tunes and have a blast.
  11. girlfriend in house = more household income = more money to spend on equipment. consider it.
  12. It´s fish, and it tastes like fish. It´s has a bit of a jelly texture, but if you like fish, you will probably like lutefisk. Here it´s served with potatoes, peas and bacon. Not very strange. I just found the smell particularly strong. Maybe I'll give it a shot though. =)
  13. Good one kaini. There's a place here that sells lutefisk but I cant bring myself to try it :(
  14. my guess is since they're larvae their body parts aren't developed. It probably pops in your mouth like a little salty mayonnaise ball of yuckiness.
  15. What model of Mordaunt Short are they? My brother has some vintage mordaunt short medium sized bookshelf speakers, they sound great but like you said, something beefier would be nice.
  16. I think boiled silkworm falls under strange man!
  17. Oh sorry, I didn't see that. The site I was on did not say that at all, it was the complete opposite. Removing pic now. Thanks for the info.
  18. huh? That's fetus soup. Seems pretty strange to me..
  19. I know! That's what it looks like lol. But they are speakers of some kind. No idea how they would work. =/
  20. One day, I hope to own these: http://www.higherfi...._Clara_Luna.jpg Seems like you guys have a lot of high end audio equipment. To date I have always tried to squeeze the most performance out of mid-end vintage speakers (I've got some JBL L80's as well). I seem to always spend my money on other things. I will be prioritizing my system next year. Has anyone ever been on this site? http://www.higherfi.com Highest-highend shit. =) Also can anyone tell me wtf these are? http://www.higherfi.com/spkrlist/MBL_101X-treme.jpg
  21. Nice setup! Great speakers too, love english speakers in general. I have a pair (though I'm not using them) of Canton speakers (cant remember the model). Great bass response, great power handling etc. Always heard wharfedale was great. My main system is: A pair of vintage cerwin vegas model E715 as of 2013 , a parasound HCA1500 power amp , some shit sony reciever, and two velodyne dls1200 subs. Plays fookin loud, and actually sounds great. The cerwins are power hungry and the amp does a great job powering them. The cerwins sound like shit if they are underpowered.
  22. All, I did not see a thread like this yet so figured I'd see what kind of response I get. This is a place to post all things stereo related. For example, what kind of amp/reciever/speakers/sub do you use? Do you prefer vintage or modern stereo equipment? Headphones? Different brands of stereo equipment, pros/cons. etc. Also, post pictures of your setup guys and gals! My listening rooms are really important to me, it would be cool to see what everyones listening spaces look like.
