    The irony was that Jamel Roberson was aspiring to become a police officer himself. Too many cops in the US see a black man, they open fire without a second thought, regardless of circumstance or whether they are carrying a weapon. It's high time we have tighter background checks on recruitment in law enforcement agencies to weed out Klansmen and Neo Nazis that wish to fulfill their aspirations of hatred under the guise of profession.

    West Virginia state senator and retired US Army major Richard Ojeda to run for President in 2020: https://theintercept.com/2018/11/11/richard-ojeda-2020-president/ While he has immense populist potential for the Democrats, it will likely be an uphill battle with the DC establishment, especially considering he voted for Trump in 2016. But still, welcome news in my eyes.

Seriously though, I'm getting tired of crusty old ladies trying to clasp the reigns of the Dem leadership and act like they are the chosen ones. They don't give two shits about actual progress. Bet they reek of spilled cabernet sauvignon and cheap perfume.

    Yeah these last couple of days I feel like I can't even be bothered TBH. Post-midterm political fatigue I guess. That and I feel like there's better, more enjoyable activities than watching that idiot clown ramble on with his constant lies, gaslighting, and incoherent dialogue. The good news is the Dems take the House on Jan 3rd and with it gain subpoena power. The bad news is that while not yet confirmed, Pelosi is still likely to become the Speaker. I really don't want that old bag to lead the fight for the Dems, because it's gonna be the same corporate pandering status quo bullshit from their leadership in DC, and that will make them weak in pushing back against the GOP. I don't want any more expired leftovers. The seat for Speaker needs to be challenged, and personally I hope Barbara Lee gets it.

    New Vegas is arguably the best Fallout game to date in the series. Highly recommend. Last I heard BL3 is confirmed to be in development still. While BL2 was fun, I would prefer to see less of the annoying, over-caffeinated character dialogue and pop culture references in the third installment.

    Being a solo gamer I likely won't be touching it either. It would've made more sense if they made it a campaign/story like Borderlands with co-op play. Kind of stupid to risk dwellers/survivors from Vault 76 to venture out in the open only to potentially turn on each other, 25 years after the world goes up in smoke. Kind of defeats the purpose of trying to preserve humanity, unless it were just another Vault-Tec experiment. If and when I need a Fallout fix again I'll just start a new run in New Vegas.

    I heard that they have a draft system, but after they've completed their tenure in the military they get to keep their rifles as citizens. Supposedly the country is also booby-trapped in case of foreign invasion, and they have some of the world's lowest rates of gun-related violence. If that isn't a badass example of responsible gun ownership, I don't know what is.

    Still on the fence about Fallout 76. Launch is just 4 days away and reviews have been mixed, from those who've been playing the beta. From what I hear the pros are that the game world is four times larger than Fallout 4, and that overall gameplay is fun. But cons are absence of story NPCs to interact with and that gameplay is geared more towards multiplayer than solo play (obviously). Looks like it's chock full of new weapons and enemies though. And of course more updates are guaranteed. In the meantime I'm still deeply immersed in NMS. In the latest 1.7 Abyss update you can build underwater bases and pilot a submarine now, though I still have a ways to go before I reach that point, and I've been playing for over a month.

    Also a completely unrelated observation/realization: in UK (proper) English, the word "indeed" appears to be synonymous with "in fact" in American English, for the purpose of emphasizing truth of an assertion.
