  1. Stop spouting off like you’re the worlds foremost authority on everything then. Kind of pompous. Or maybe he's just passionate about space exploration. I see no reason to hold that against him. I don't think we have to worry. It's a guaranteed one way trip with current technology.
  2. For all the dreamers getting wild ideas about colonizing Mars 'n shit, bear in mind that considering its thin atmosphere, apparent absence of water, as well as absence of magnetic field to shield against solar and cosmic radiation, not to mention just being a giant barren rock, living there would suck. I think we're better off striving to resolve the ongoing burdens of climate change, income inequality, and the trend of despotic asswipes being elected as world leaders. The next planet even remotely hospitable for human life is light years away, and even then the odds of it perfectly matching conditions of Earth are probably next to none. I will admit that's a cool shot though. For some reason it reminds me of the Second Bad Vilbel music vid.
  3. Because nepotism and the signature Republican hypocrisy. Well, and tiddies too.
  4. If anything this reaffirms that the Zuck is indeed reptilian. As is Todd Howard for that matter.
  5. To this day I still don't know where y'all find these, but the dankhood on this page is absolutely divine.

Supposedly they've already dropped a 5GB update to address some issues. And you may be right.

  7. Fallout 3 is a memorable experience overall. Exploring creepy locale like Vault 106 and the Dunwich Building, acquiring unique weapons like the Xuanlong AR and Lincoln's Repeater, and just scouring the DC ruins and traversing seemingly endless subway tunnels...it had a lot going for it. And it felt colorful and imaginative. The main story was kind of simplistic but overall it made sense. Fallout 4 was decent but perhaps too ambitious from a technical standpoint. It had improved combat from previous games but the story felt flat and uninteresting and the settlement management crap for the Minutemen got rather annoying. It was still satisfying though just to roam around and wipe out raider and Gunner camps along the way. And Fallout: New Vegas is a crowning achievement in game writing. All the NPCs had their own background story and engaged in realistic dialogue, and all of the DLCs tied into the main plot - they were more than just bonus material being arbitrarily shoehorned. The gameplay was reflective of developers who are experienced in making RPGs, and decades-long pop culture easter eggs are scattered throughout. In short, it's a masterpiece, and ought to be in the hall of fame of video game history. And Fallout 76 I haven't played, but lol. If Bethesda ever make an effort to improve the game like Hello Games did with NMS since launch, then I might give it a go. But things aren't looking good for either the game or the company right now.
  8. Bethesda under investigation for "deceptive trade practices" regarding FO76: https://comicbook.com/gaming/2018/11/26/fallout-76-refunds-law-firm-investigates-bethesda-deceptive-trade-practices/ Ruh roh.
  9. Nope, not really. I figured him to be a shitbag from the get-go. So far I have seen no evidence to convince me otherwise. I just hope the Democrats can muster a new leadership by 2020 - a younger, more assertive, more progressive, less corrupt one.
  10. Technically the "Islands" states are both archipelagos. Also both were invaded by Japan. And one is the annual-free-check-just-for-living-there state, and the other is the at-least-5-reggae-stations-on-the-radio state.
  11. lol @ 6ix9ine. He looks like his original teeth got knocked out in a brawl and got replaced with Cap'n Crunch. His inmates are gonna have a field day with him. What the hell has happened to hip hop anyway? It's like all the OGs are either dead or retired and then all these baby mama bastard children took over.
  12. I'd wait. I think it might become a free-to-play game in the coming months considering how negative the reviews are coming in. Yeah for sure. There's just too much drama surrounding it right now. I hear there are still plenty of bugs that need to get sanded out as well as framerate drop issues due to the servers, regardless of PC specs. I hope BGS can follow the example of Hello Games and learn how to improve this product according to the players' grievances. Otherwise this may prove to be their undoing. Their commitment to updating this is admirable, were I not embroiled in RDR2 I'll jump back in but will do after. Take your time. NMS won't be fading any time soon at this rate, and will only get better with age.
  13. STILL playing NMS. Version 1.75 update today. Two years ago I never imagined I'd even be touching this game again. Yet here I am, 150+ hours in.
  14. I thought about the idea of some kind of "consciousness cloud", which would basically be a digital mind bank, and in a way a ticket to immortality. The alternative with current known technology would be millennia of cryo-sleep aboard a one-way colony space ship. Maybe we'll reach a world beyond our own solar system one day, one way or another. I just hope it won't become a survival necessity in our lifetimes.
  15. Supposedly several exoplanets discovered in the past decade are tidally locked with their host stars in the same manner that our moon is with our planet. They're sometimes nicknamed "eyeball" planets. And if there's any habitable region on them, then it's most likely literally in the shape of a ring, or the "iris". The "pupil" would be too hot, and the rest would be too cold, at least in theory. Proxima Centauri B (the closest exoplanet to our solar system) is apparently one of these tidally locked exoplanets. But "closest" in this case is by roughly 4.2 light years, or 40 trillion km/ 25 trillion mi. But what do I know. None of my college education ever included astronomy or astrophysics. But one day we will all have to hand out in secrete, especially in deep space.
  16. How god damn dense does a president have to be to just brush off the Khashoggi murder. Even the government of Turkey under Erdoğan condemned it and is calling out the Trump administration for resuming the alliance with the Saudi government...even after the CIA concluded that crown prince bin Salman ordered the hit. Beyond shameful.
  17. Cheers, guys. There's a lot to go thru, but we'll sort it all out one way or another. In the meantime, let us take a minute of silence and then hit the Dank Memes thread. Really though, I appreciate all your kindness.
  18. I've been thinking that the reason FO76 isn't available on steam and is Bethesda.net exclusive is so that they wouldn't be subject to refunds. Although I'm not certain whether refunds are an option on their proprietary service or not. But who am I to judge. I haven't tried it yet. But I might later, who knows.
  19. Although I'm slightly late with this update, my dad passed away nearly a week ago. So my brother (also a WATMM member) and I have a legal clusterfuck on our hands that could take a while to resolve, regarding his pending house sale, potential credit card debt, absence of any will, etc. But I'm not fishing for hugs or condolences here necessarily. If anything this is just a major life update that I've felt needed to be known sooner or later.
  20. TBH I can't take any of this GOP shit seriously anymore. An entire reality TV show cast taking over US politics is where we're at now. Oh well. Get your airhorns ready
