ah, gotta love new autechre album fake samples/etc. haven't listened to anything yet and not really interested at this point. i'd like to say i want to wait until the vinyl arrives but to be honest i'll probably download it as soon as it's available. i'm almost more excited about seeing the actual physical product than hearing it, lol. quaristice was a bit of a disappointment for me, here's hoping this one will be a bit more concise. and when the fuck are they gonna tour australia?!

yeah i might try to mimic the beat in parhelic triangle with acoustic percussion. at some point. though i'll probably do the metal cover of iera before that.

here's a cover of parhelic triangle i recorded: post-rock band covers autechre keep in mind it was made in 2006 when i was only just starting to get into recording post-rock, so it's a little sloppy and overcompressed (also it's one of the first times i'd ever played drums), but i guess it kinda fits the mood of the track, or something. and if you haven't heard the original neu! tracks that it was based on, you should do so immediately! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy20vdqpfx0 couldn't find im gluck on youtube, but weissensee is a great track.

confield is definitely a summer album for me. reminds me when i was studying, and going for long walks around my place of study in light bushy areas. the hihats in uviol mimicking the cicadas. great times! if the weather is good this weekend i'll go and sit out in the park with speakers and beers and blast confield. awesome!

i love the beginning and very end of lentic catachresis (with the glitching). the middle part, i still haven't 'unlocked' yet. and parhelic triangle is definitely the best track, imo.

you know, that ad is the reason why phil quit music. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW CADBURY? NOW THERE REALLY WON'T BE A PROPER GENESIS REUNION! also, face value is a really, really good album. not nearly as good as duke or a trick of the tail, but still pretty damn awesome, considering it was mostly recorded in a home studio. also also, that ad is about two years old.
