  1. It's one of those things I don't really use but would regret if I sold tbf
  2. Andertons (UK) offer a no interest loan so I'm now paying off around £100 per month for the next 9 months... #rytm
  3. Goes on a bit long and I should've turned down the music in relation to how loud my voice came out on the recording, but oh well, I think you'll get the idea. If I forgot something regarding the retrigs someone let me know. Wicked, cheers for this. Appreciate you taking the time out to put it together. I like the length possibilities with the retrigs, could work well with an LFO (if you can send them to retrig info?) That loop/track you were putting together for this example is really good by the way, you planning to use it for a track? Got my 101, Sherman Filterbank and maybe my 606 going up on Ebay so will hopefully be able to get a Rytm soon
  4. If you have any specific questions about the Rytm or want to see/hear specific sounds or functionality, just let me know. - Really I just want to see someone really twist up the retrigs so I can hear what it's capable of. Going to sell my 101 + 606.
  5. I think I'll likely get a Rytm at some point mainly just to see whether it can do what I think it can. The older drum machines always seem cool but the only one I've ever really liked is the 606. Mainly looking for something that can really fuck with drum sounds. Anyone notice how the retrig on the Monomachine feels a lot sharper than on the Octatrack? Like more instantaneous? Probably full of shit...
  6. What is your favourite drum machine? In terms of fun, plays with others and jamming out tracks. I've got a Nord Drum and it's capable of some great sounds but sometimes you want to just piss about with a drum machine that has it's own sequencer (that isn't a Monomachine...) have in the past been tempted by the Tanzbar, Rytm, Drumbrute and the TR8 (although I'm not sure I could buy it as it's ugly as hell). Rytm apparently does retrigs which is interesting...
  7. Noise is such a weird genre but can create some truly free and creative work. Both of these tracks so far are good, especially the angry one
  8. Coming from a punk/rock background, I can totally sympathize with the woes of electronic percussion. The drabness of it was actually one of the reasons I stopped making electronic stuff (other than a drone/beatless track here and there) about 2 years ago. Finally just got back into it within the past 6 months. I find that mixing strange sampled things (fucked completely with fx) and slicing uncommon loops has been a game changer for me. I rarely ever quantize and I still never use step sequencing. Listening to your recent tunes this makes sense. The rhythms in your tracks are different to normal, not as easy to predict which obviously makes for a more interesting track. A WATMM playlist/radio would be cool, especially if you could personalise it by hiding/liking tracks.
  9. +1 (except sharing my synths...) I like your point on making short interesting snippets rather than well structured tracks that have to be over a certain time frame. Might make a short snippet album where every track is under 1 minute long.
  10. The only part of it that stresses me out is options.
  11. I think that GAS just comes from forever searching for THAT sound. However good your current synths/drum machines/effects are there is nearly always a reason to want or need another one. I've got better with this but I am far from cured.
  12. Haha, I didn't expect to be so close but the sounds and melodies sound very similar. It's a great, emotive soundtrack so fair play. I liked Achoraq and Casceal a lot and have been tempted by the A4 but just recently got a Monomachine and some of the sounds I've got out of it already are pretty weird/unexpected. It's easily the best synth I own for making something unique quickly.
  13. Ches, some of your music (the 'Organy' stuff on Faders, Racing Me) reminds me of the Interstellar soundtrack. Particularly like when the drums come in on The Faders. Bath Salts and Casceal reminds me of The Gasman. Onlaw & Achoraq makes me think if BOC went digital (even if the track isn't made with digital synths). Bass on Yeah, Thought So reminds me of NIN. Apologies for the categorising/comparisons, just the best way for me to describe them. You use the Analog 4 for this album? Some really good work, cheers for the download.
  14. If I didn't have an octatrack I'd be interested as it looks interesting for the price point. I like the little jam from 26:19 (apparently that's only one track, pretty cool...)
  15. I succumbed to the allure of a Monomachine.
  16. The Elektron addiction is kind of weird. Got an Octatrack and got a MD and MM pretty soon after. The MD and MM are long gone but once you've got to grips with one of them it makes working with the others so easy. I do miss the MM though :(
  17. Reminds me of an old Roland, like a D50? I'd be interested if it wasn't so massive! Would look pimp next to a matrix brute though Got a BCR2000 on the way. Want to experiment more with sound sculpting so hoping it will help.
