  1. Interesting if true, MT1T2 on London LP sounds nothing like Primavera track, wonder what the connection is there.
  2. Not sure if ceerious but article title at my end calls them 'amazing 3D posters' Gotta respect the zero-effort put into it. Well, that's unkind - reading watmm for 2 minutes (to steal memes), copying a few wince-stagram/twatter links, and even throwing in a well-worn tired old 'Richard lived *there* once' rumour does take a bit of work... but ending any news piece with 'Interesting.'? jfc... see me after class. Favourite one I read "rumoured to have lived in an unused bank in the centre of the Elephant & Castle roundabout."
  3. Track 3 appears to be "MT 1 t 29 r 2". It may not be in the listing at the bottom of the press release, but you can see it listed near the centre of the AFX logo. Interesting because there is a MT1T2 on London EP, possibly the comfiest tune in recent times, love that little ditty, so I'm excited, imagine the 29th development of that style of tune, like Synthacon1 to Synthacon9, but triple!
  4. got pulled? good indication there Nah, the track is still there if you go on Soundcloud, but I am hoping T69 is that track!
  5. Beginning of Primavera track is very creepy, unmistakable CtD vibes with a modern twist, can't wait till that gets released.
  6. Actually "your" acid riffs taken from Phoscyon VST demo. But yeah they close to what Aphex Twin made LOL, savage! Yeah lol sounds like I'm bullshiting but I just assumed I made it when I looked back at my exported files, didn't rememeber that I'm a dirty preset user. Apologies.
  7. That's my vid, just uploaded what someone ripped from that 1 hour long Jlin bleep mix, general consensus is that she got hold of the track early and did her own spin on it.
  8. DFN Vinyl implies the 2 track exclusive Vinyl sold at the festival, and I'm sure that is what Rich meant. The track he played is for SURE going to be reserved for a future album, and not flippantly added onto the store.
  9. Just realised I made the acid riff from rozzbox about 2 years ago, resemblance is uncanny: Rich's: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p5b464x21a80vwz/richs.mp3?dl=0 Mine: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ro5lw9eb9zy5v7u/mine.mp3?dl=0 Spooky
  10. This is old albums getting added with new tracks + soundcloud tracks, whole new releases yet to be.
  11. I was born in '98, probs makes me among the youngest on here. Luckily I have a wicked uncle who showed me the CtD and Windowlicker videos at a young age, and after getting into BOC through him around 2011/12, I stumbled back onto Aphex and his endless amount of good music. Drukqs changed my life completely, I had never, and still havn't heard anything as dense, complex and beautiful as that. Pretty good timing aswell because I found him just as he was playing those lush Syro tracks live, and since then its been new release after new release. In terms of cultural relevance however, none of my friends or peers at any stage of my life had heard of RDJ or anything similiar, pretty sad but it's just the way it is, I probably wouldn't have known of Warp if not for my uncle.
  12. RDJ basically confirmed it's a bleep store. Something new is probably going to come along with it When/where did he basically confirm this? Was this something he has said recently since the timer went up? 47 seconds into this vid: Woman (presumably): "Whats the timer counting down to?" Rich: "It's a Bleep store"
  13. Spot on with many of the points here. And no trust me, I know very well with experience there is a big difference between the in-the-box sound and even cheap digital hardware synths. This is partially why I've been making certain stuff myself using my EMU rompler, ASR-10, and my Yamaha YS200. Even that super limited 4 op ys200 is light and day difference between basic patches on NI's FM8. Everything from its internal DAC, circuit noise, the hardware having a dedicated board, going back into your converter/pre, etc. It's just richer, has more dimension and texture and is thicker. No doubt about it. My thoughts of if he used all vsts for a project was not an analog vs. digital thing, it was more a in-the-box vs out-the-box thing. You might be right in one sense of the idea of the futility of using all vsts when you have the resources and skill richard has. But there is something to be said about the process of producing all itb. Looking at modern dance/electronic styles, there have been a wide range of great pro releases that use mostly itb production (and i know for a fact from a close friend whose a ghost producer there are hit dance singles all done itb (mixing as well). yes, it has it's "own sound", the squeaky clean digital character, but I think that particular sound shouldn't be looked down on just because it lacks a human feel. Cold and computer-ish and sterile can sometimes be cool in itself (see modern dnb, goa trance etc -- those styles would actually sound ridiculous if composed (mostly) via out the box via synths, drums machines and samplers with the exception of maybe the Virus TI, some crazy modulars, or more modern digital varieties). With the right techniques and mixing, it can sound quite warm on the surface, but still squeaky clean on the inside (esp when re-amping or running vsts through analog gear to give mojo). Which makes me wonder, does anyone know what kind of hardware/software rdj used on drukqs? Anyway, to me, it would just be interesting to see what he could accomplish going all or at least significantly itb, at least on the production end. Though I know i know it's 99% surely not to happen lol. I mean speaking of IDM, haven't both Ae and Squarepusher done releases that heavily utilized softsynths or am I just crazy? He mentioned on SC using the tracker PlayerPro for Drukqs, probably with an assortment of breaks/samples/softsynths, some tracks being made on his laptop even.
  14. Track A1 is just spectacular, I'm getting Fenix Funk vibes aswell like someone said before, Rich is just a virtuoso at creating emotional melodies. What a great suprise getting this many tracks, like a full album, I reckon aswell that its offshoots from his next LP (not mfm), and other little experiments he's done in the last few years. Infinitely grateful for this collection of tunes coming out of nowhere, and also for the life-changing set and the chance to see him live!
  15. Sort of sounds like offshoots from his next full album (Houston & Primavera track being on there). Really great stuff, love track 6 which is what he opened the set with and used on the NTS live thing, evil little track.
  16. "Other ones planned" I'll make sure to pick up the next one at Field Day. So excited!

    Cheetah EP

I think it's very ironic, back when the 2 Cheetah tracks were uploaded to Soundcloud, I adored Cheetah3 and saw 7 as "the other one", the boring and not-as-successful twin. However, hearing this EP in full, Cheetah7b is by far the best track he's released since Syro, the "boring" one is now knocking my socks off every time I play it. The pads are absolutely mind-blowing, sonically perfect, pleasingly nostalgic and absolutely lush beyond words. The bass drives the track forwards and the variety of crystal clear and interesting timbres that hit you absolutely makes the track a joy to put on. Defo the highlight for me, thanks Rich!

My reaction during CHEETAH2: Has completely blown my expectations out of the water, thanks RDJ, I should have never have doubted you.
