  5. a track called Imperial Metric by The Bohman Brothers/Sonic Catering Band (one member being Peter Strickland, the director of Berberian Sound Studio) eccentric English electronica, to put it mildly

  10. Magneticring - Magneticring ........ Bristol missions always throw up some gems. Bought it for the sleeve initially, an Aubrey Beardsley meets bright lime n pink thing on pain-relief meds. Sounds superb too, kinda like the synthier, more cosmic end of certain Krautrock meeting droned out harmonies that melt away time. Love the melodies on this beauty, never overplays its groove. Maybe technically a longer e.p. but the quality was too delicious to ignore/10 Vakula - Voyage to Arcturus ,,,,,,,,,, 1 of the more innovative and inspired house music producers to arouse these facist ears in recent years. A concept lp (of sorts) .... has some real wonky spaced-out gems. If you worship at the temple of chugged out down-tempo moogy 4/4 gear, its def worth a punt, but its still a big departure from his usual material. Appropriate diction fail/10 Andrew Liles - Incommensurable Magnitudes .....will shurrup about this release after 3rd n final reference here. 7hrs into a 24hr drone-scape project that completely defies the laws of quality control already. Layers of sound build, melt, disintegrate and regrow through analog tones that are completely addictive. Outstanding listening. Have some r&r next few days and fully intend to finish the fucker pronto. 1 of Britain's finest ever sound explorers/10
  11. due to physical rehab i was forced to watch several episodes of whatever that wank is with Drew Pritchard, the bloke who goes round stately piles & warehouses trying to underpay everyone for their junk antiques horded crap there are several problems with this program: 1) the narrator chap, the northern sounding cunt who was Brent's mate Finchy in The Office (imdb confirms Ralph Ineson), needs to stop sounding like something out of a George Orwell sat-nav nightmare. Like Drew Pritchard isnt grating enough w/out interludes from this length. This more than anything else boils my piss. 2) the subtle reinforcement of class structures through a steady flow of gibbering toffs, spiv wheeler dealers and the poor beast of burden, T (is it? it could be summat different,,,,). Granted, you dont get the crass in your face money-money-money aspect of certain US equivalents, but the only folks out of this spectrum are the odd autistic toy car museum curator and Drew's scouse slightly alcoholic-looking wife. 3) the interior working of T's mind are never revealed. His frustrations and patience when driving, lifting, listening to inane dribble & DP haggling over £25 differences are all disturbingly absent. A Marxist critique would miss the journey of the soul of this man. And he always has a joke to crack at the right moments.....bless. 4) DP's wife's reactions to yet another removal van full of tat and crap unloading are some of the more unintentionally funny sequences of the whole thing. Micro-winces & sighs masked behind dry scouse wit. Hence, this is actually the show's single saving grace *this post was supported by Chemdawg, the only flower w/genuine Grateful Dead influenced genetics
  12. feels like a better fit this season, script, jokes, characters and actors have bedded in fully, pacing doesnt feel forced and making JLD Prez has upped the sycophancy of the team around her to brilliant levels
  13. two cracking talents combining = alchemical wonder been inching my way through Incommensurable Magnitudes, 24hrs of sound, drone & tone from AL, up to about the 6hr mark, remarkable soul food indeed..... found here: https://andrewliles.bandcamp.com/album/incommensurable-magnitudes-2
  14. its been quite a while now since Inland Empire dunno about any1 else but i've missed the intermittent and glorious moments of seeing new Lynch projects on the big screen, cos those are some of the best moments you get with film. With a new tv series and with the man himself behind the final versions......holy fuckin sweet jesus AND mary AND the disciples and other emphatic biblical references.....something you can enjoy at home in your own time in an all enveloping world of strangeness dare i say it........ fuck yeah
  15. been taking on hourly chunks that make up the individual sections within this 24hr experience........ https://andrewliles.bandcamp.com/album/incommensurable-magnitudes-2 cant believe it slipped below the radar, immense so far,,,,,,,,,
  16. Richard H Kirk's output has flirted with all kinds of shapes, tones & patterns, especially with the more ambient side of house (real trance music, but thats another thread). Loads of Sandoz, Electronic Eye & Sweet Exorcist tracks exist in this realm that gives you the best of "ambient", but with serious drum programming chops, music that can zen out dance floors & drift around your ears at home too. #HailPraiseKirk
