  1. PLUS 1 hour by digit/ios incoming
  2. ... considering we're all in full Ae overdose now, you can really take the time to do detailed work without hearing our insistent murmur. It will be like having a third album: the perfect anesthesia for the new looming quarantine
  3. well, the similarity is more a suggestion: in the final section left blank stabilizes on a melody that, both in sound and in form, seems to share some genes with ecol4, 7FMic has something of confield, while dekdre scape could be the brother of zesiss countarex fallen barbarously between the blades of draft..
  4. well, i still hear reminiscences of ep7 and confield too, but when i posted the analogy between left blank and ecol 4 i started collecting facepalms
  5. kiosk is something that happened when awteker was still, for me, a lonely obsession ... watmm was a bit like joining alcoholics anonymous, after years of addiction, in 2015 .. i suspect that if they dedicated keyosc, kiosk must have been a even more imposing torment than sean plz
  6. I missed the reference: what meme? Anyway, a tribute to watmm would also be reasonable (I mean, after 15 uninterrupted hours of twitch tv I would deserve a salary), but even the title of two albums seems a bit excessive ... It also remains to understand why they would have published the "e" before the "a", associated with the reverse logo of the shirt, there must be some expedient otherwise the thing would be totally senseless
  7. to the right of Sign I see a series of question marks, and I don't think it's a coincidence if the number of question marks that substitute the author is 7
  8. I read now the previous post ... yes, that was more aggressive, but I hope not enough to become a serious thing
  9. I have nothing against your disappointment with Sign, indeed, having a voice out of the chorus avoids turning the forum into a celebration exercise, but, let me say, that was not an aggressive post
  10. ...so, I confirm that I like the graphics of sign, especially now that I see it printed, only I say that warp could invest a few pounds more on the cardboard. I don't think Autechre are a commercial gamble, there should be all the guarantees for the sold out, and a slightly thicker cardboard shouldn't lead to bankruptcy.
  11. actually JNSN CODE is practically n cur in slow motion: among the posts on youtube there is this: playback speed 0.5 → JNSN CODE GL16 similarly, if you accelerate JNSN CODE to 1.5 you will have something very similar to n cur
  12. reviews are really uninteresting, but it is true that it is quite rare to find statements that reveal that whoever wrote them really listened to Ae, and it 's for this exception that I posted them. Interviews, we know, are rare
  13. muro di suono review (in this encyclical the truth is said) https://www.soundwall.it/autechre-il-sign-giusto-al-momento-giusto/
  14. rolling stone review: https://www.rollingstone.it/musica/le-volte-in-cui-gli-autechre-hanno-diviso-il-mondo-dellelettronica/535556/?fbclid=IwAR3NKw3dNTMiI7a8e1mwAz4mhNzWzBsJFLvjKxyHv-5sRe08BhmNOcWB088#confield
  15. yes yes, I too had some pain in the ass with that guy (not that I have problems with prehistoric voices, i mean, my very first love was from eslavement to obliteration, but here the matter is painfully testosteronic), but with a little practice, you will be able to exclude the curses of the pissed bricklayer, and hear only the math mayhem
  16. mhhh, ok... it's probably better that the boys never know how well their fourteenth opera fits with that
  17. Kaufman explain : https://www.indiewire.com/2020/09/charlie-kaufman-explains-im-thinking-of-ending-things-1234584492/
  18. I look at it from a different perspective: this is not a mediocre album, it is rather an album with elements that can be read immediately, and others that reveal themselves later, and this is the difference with past releases: a time most things revealed themselves over time. So if this had been someone else's album (which in any case it couldn't be because this is definitely an Ae album) I probably would have stopped at the more obvious elements and wouldn't have given them time to bring out the rest. So, I'm more than happy to know that an Ae album takes time, but I wonder how much more music could give me great things, but having no prior knowledge, I won't give it enough time to reveal itself fully.
  19. n cur is one of Sign's most ethereal moments, I could play it on repeat for 24 hours without feeling its weight. It belongs to an internal vein of ae, which started with Rpeg, then returned more frequently in recent years (foldfree casual, carefree counter dronal, JNSN CODE GL16), and now has incorporated something Wagnerian. it's a crime that a piece like this is reserved for the Japanese edition:
  20. If you consider my reverse logo theories conspiratorial, you have no idea what you are likely to find out there. From you tube (be strong): Ciarán Byrne If you consider the central shape within the cover art as being representative of both the 'A' and 'E' surrounded in flame, this signifies ending / resignation. 2 W a v e s O f R e d I personally don’t think Autechre will ever stop making music, I personally see the orange as some kindof life showing up in this barren, dystopian landscape. Really this cover can describe the album really well, being the most “human” in their dystopian sound of a discography. I think this album may foreshadow some kindof new beginning / renaissance for Autechre. Still an interesting take nonetheless. 1 Ciarán Byrne @W a v e s O f R e d Yes, I suppose its interpretation would be colored by individual temperament. I do hope they continue to make music. 1 Ciarán Byrne @W a v e s O f R e d Just to add, I don't think the sign necessarily represents Autechre's resignation from making music, but is more so reflective of a collective resignation in a broader context; artists and DJs being told to reskill by dim-witted politicians, covid, environmental decline, etc. 3 Kevin Cobb This is the kind of fine intellect I expect from Autechre fans! However, the flames do not necessarily indicate resignation, because their shape is the same color as the negative space surrounding them. Additionally, all of the orange shapes that suggest a flame are the same fundamental shape as that in the center, in different arrangements. This could be interpreted as the graphic fire being the living envelope that defines Autechre; this could signify a greater acceptance of their identity with that fire, but also an admission that within the fire is that same neutral substance permeating the environment.
