  1. yet, in esc desc i keep finding traces of this: (and while i'm far from being a hans zimmer follower, that slowdown at 1:30 breaks some serious big asses)
  2. it is true, both letters are intertwined in the cover, but the "a" is like a ghost, while the "e" has a dominant role, and is the only one to be full. This gives hope for the same treatment for the "a"
  3. both Ios and Digit could benefit from this, and considering the work behind it and that it is only thanks to them that 08 'set will have a new life, it would seem to me absolutely legitimate. If we don't have a sequel to Sign (considering we are now psychologically misled by this belief), this will be the replacement.
  4. 15? Our good old Sean talked about a ton of hours of unreleased music, adding that the only perplexity that kept them from releasing all that stuff was the fear that their music would "depreciate" from saturation. It was probably the covid_chat, or an interview, now I don't remember..
  5. yeah, I play the nostradamus card, raising the bar of the conspiracy: if the "e" is warm, contemplative and maliconically conciliatory, the "a" will be blue or purple, it will seize us and throw us on a pack plate. The silhouette of a pod of killer whales below us.
  6. for those who have remained in the waves of r catz, these two pieces of pure poetry could be the perfect continuation: https://jamesplotkin.bandcamp.com/track/03-untitled-guitar-9-1994 https://jamesplotkin.bandcamp.com/track/04-untitled-guitar-2-1991
  7. I have the impression (but I could tell the evidence) that they feel the need to firmly take over the reins of the composition. A piece like r cazt (just to quote the most obvious case), in its limpid minimalism, can only be the result of direct decisions, not an upstream research on algorithmic probabilities. Perhaps the reverse logo (substantiated by the cover that features the "e" and not the "a", which is assumed to come in succession - therefore the possible proof that we will have a second album with the "a" and in a short time) more than a return to the origins in stylistic terms, it could wink at a return to a more direct compositional approach. And although I confirm the impression that Sign is held on safe territory, by the hour, by the day, it is growing in me. Practically the Ae phenomenon, but without necessarily going through the settling phase. I'm curious to see what my perception will be in a month.
  8. I can't get that si00 out of my mind. Not that it's a problem, on the contrary, I welcome it willingly; the fact is that too many melodies intertwine, and their mood changes, so when i whistle, muffled by the mask, a mangled combination of cacophony comes out of my mouth.
  9. In Sign I find wonderful, evocative music. And this music is perfectly aware of being wonderful and avocative: it never takes the risk of not liking me, it doesn't dare, it keeps itself in safe territory. And the way I like it is very immediate, after all it targets quite defined emotions, it is never really ambiguous, and this scares me a little: defined, explicit emotions are more difficult to reiterate: that's why music that I liked a lot remains in some way linked to the time in which it was published and infrequently I go looking for it again, while with Autechre the opposite happens, precisely because they focus on an intertwining of moods just suggested and often in contradiction . But not this time, at least apparently. So I have the feeling that something still has to happen, and that everything is not resolved in the placid and solemn stability of sign. After all, so much has been said about the second album, that even from a psychological point of view I feel incomplete (without confict feeling behind the surface). If, then, nothing happens, we have in any case an album of great beauty, even if in more general terms and less susceptible to revelations.
  10. yeah, but i require to exist to listen
  11. these are at least 5 hours of travel: are you not convinced to wait for the green one, in order to have at least the vehicle guaranteed for two hours? ...SPRING??!! WE NEVER KNOW IF THERE WILL STILL BE CIVILIZATION FOR THEN!
  12. in fact: I expected to the point that it would be a warm, melodious and collected album, that I ended up expecting it not to be so because I was expecting it too much. And so, unexpectedly, it was truly a warm, melodious and collected album.
  13. Well, my snare problem occurs one step before Four of Seven (which I like the way it is: the snare is filtered to the point that it sounds like something else, maybe the sum of two sounds, twisted by a reckless parameterized chorus). Even today I can hardly stand the gonk steady one snare: 22 minutes without mercy, with the same timbre, sandy and detached from the rest of the track (which instead seduced me), sometimes aggravated by a short-range delay, which seems the result of an accidentally pressed button.
  14. this Meshuggah live, just uploaded, is of great quality, and it's abviously untilting as hell
  15. I have a feeling that the next chapter will be called NGIS
  16. I suspect that too: Sean said "an album is ready for 2020 ... well, actually 2", which could refer to the two LPs (Sean's humor often plays on taking things literally, pointing them right to what they are), but the fact that only one sign by now appears ( e ) encourages me a lot in predicting the missing sign. Then, if Nostradamus predicted a second sign, and considering that the prophecy of colors has come true for now, I don't see why I shouldn't believe that the rest will also happen.
  17. having already taken the path of "narrative" composition, which changes and transforms continuously, probably what they want to do now is supposed to be a thing that takes place within a defined structure. It could be the necessary way to put out this kind of tracks.
  18. ps: if things were to stay in the terms I described above, once again I must recognize how much they have disregarded me: a few months ago I replied to a post that hypothesized a return to the past, writing "Autechre that go back: this is a paradox". Well, now I have a t-shirt with autechre that literally go back, and an album with retro suggestions, transformed into a vision that comes from the future.
