  1. these free releases + 15 other releases (120 tracks) are on youtube now. giving streaming another go. can still download like half my releases on bandcamp for free. but if youtube etc is your thing have at it.
  2. i don't have CNN so no idea what they're saying or any other thing on the 24 hour TV news cycle. as for rogan's podcast and how it effects people's lives.. yes.. lot's of people will listen and take away what they want and are just looking for entertainment but like anything especially these days.. there's a lot of people who will be influenced and follow his discourse as a model on how they should be behave.. like not getting vaccinated if you're young and healthy and eating right etc or eating elk meat or trying dmt or thinking jordan peterson is 'the guy' they should look to to explain the world or whatever. there's good and bad ideas in lot's of things that are on tv or in podcasts or in someone's butt. wether or not something gets pulled from distribution or streaming or whatever is up to spotify and they'll do what their PR needs mandate. sometimes too late.. etc. eventually it will blow over and the world will move on to something else. so what. social media and things like spotify are newish things.. i mean... these companies are still figuring out the rules of what they should and shouldn't do and how to police misinformation and what is misinformation and all that. growing pains or whatever. regardless.. i think plenty of people, musicians especially, aren't minding at all that spotify is eating its own shit for a minute because they've been making musicians eat their own shit for a while now and no one seems to care. so it goes. edit: also, when you have alex jones on your podcast and take him seriously.. i mean...
  3. and there's a $50,000 hifi sound system in the office. venture capital at its best. meanwhile musicians don't even get to smell a whole fart. they just get the minor fart essence from the next room.
  4. does big pharma have some influence on swedish spotify? i don't get the relationship? spotify is acting in response to 'public outrage' or however it's being characterized.. it's PR stuff is all. obviously, there's bigger problems w/streaming economy than joe rogan's misinformation moments of which it appears there's a bunch. i think he sometimes is pretty lazy about "let's look that up" and not doing research in earnest the way other podcasts do when they cover a topic. but that's his style. sort of riffs about whatever. some of his 12 years or whatever of shows are interesting. it's not all garbage. but i'm not going to curate it all. i've only listened to maybe 3 episodes. the one l liked was about past earth cataclysmic events and geological evidence that is ignored. it's an interesting topic even taken w/a grain of salt here or there. it's one of the 3 hour long episodes but there's lot's of footage and all kinds of shit. "let's look that up" is pretty funny since it's just some guy googling and the Tim heidecker response to joe rogan kinda nails that for me.
  5. they spend $2.77 million a month on rent for their NYC World trade center offices so it's not a big deal for them really. i think it's a 17 yr lease. that alone is about $565 million.. just for rent.
  6. samplig using mics always has a nice texture to it even if it's a bad recording. something about soundwaves hitting air and bouncing around and being picked up by a mic. it's in space or whatever. processing that stuff is always fun that sergeXT synth is free and sounds interesting. also the Stoachas sequencer at same site is cool. https://surge-synthesizer.github.io there's lot's of good leads in the "free music software" thread too.
  7. oh.. i think that's either spectron or the u-he filterscape on the drums.. couple be other stuff though. there's layers of weirdness in that track. max for cats is a m4l instrument so requires max for live. if you're looking for FM there's a bunch of stuff out there these days that is standard vst/au etc. plogue came out with one a while back. OP7 which is bit accurate copy of a dx7. the arturia DX7 sounds good once you program around that arturia sheen. it can import all the dx7 presets as sysex though so it's pretty unlimited. the UI isn't everyone's fav though. also NI FM8 of course.. u-he zebra can do a lot though.. kinda can do everything almost.
  8. lols. can we turn off all social media for a month?
  9. thanks. the low frequency buzz sounds? idk yo.. you'd have to be more specific. but this was a collaboration so maybe i didn't even make them. the synth in first track is Aalto by madrona labs. drums are a few things being processed by u-he filterscape which is that feedback stutter type thing on some of the drums. basically a short delay w/high feedback and filter.. but also some processing from now discontinued izotope spectron i think. was a long time ago so not sure about some things. jay, who i made this with, uses reaktor a bunch or was at the time. last track has lot's of that FM synth by max for cats. it's called Bengal.
  10. they could easily pull down just a few episodes that are spreading bullshit. the don't have to remove any podcast entirely. but.. there's no real winners in the streaming world.
  11. yeah.. it's just nuts. embracing the coup attempt. calling it 'normal political discourse'. well.. OK! fucking assholes. of course though.. i mean.. what else are they gonna do.
  12. in the full clip of this there's a guy at the end all bummed "I just wanted some steak"
  13. you have that option already.. so it's not like they're taking anything away. ? i often make playlists of albums from the same artist. will be nice to be able to do that if i ever stream from bandcamp on my phone which i have never done because ipods are my thing.
  14. after some back and forth i decided to give streaming another try for my music. submitted 18 releases to a handful of streaming services. they started showing up today to be available. i checked some out.. of course i knew there's like 5 or 8 people using ignatius as a moniker. all different genres.. but there's only 1 or 2 ignatius artist pages on these services and they have all the releases linked to them. this only matters for searching on the streaming services and doesn't effect streaming royalties since each track has an ISRC etc and is linked to my distrokid account and ascap etc. in order to create an artist page on these services i have to go and find the releases on each services and copy the release link and go to distrokid and link it to the "fix this" type of form they have set up that's not a big deal except i have to do it 18 times on about 10 different services. so much data entry for fun and "profit". i'm curious to see how this will flesh out after a year.
