  1. yeah.. it's kind of hilarious and though i've not read the book.. it's hard to not think of it as a giant bag of stats. all the social progress that happened is because of boomers. were they all pointed in the same direction? no of course not.. neither is any fucking generation. my dad had a cross burned on the front lawn when he was in his 20s because he spoke out about segregation and spoke against the vietnam war in church to a bunch of conservative 'patriots'. every bit of struggle and social change was paid for in blood. lot's of people were always trying to do the right thing. pretty much every green/womens/progressive etc movement that exists today got its birth in the 60s. are there always capitalists and me first fucks gobbling up a much as they can of everything and exploiting everyone and everything regardless of consequences?? yes of course. laying it all on "all the boomers" is dumb. it's unregulated capitalism that fucked us. capitalism that poured money into politics and every crack of influence to control the process and swing it all in the favor of corporate gains.

  3. I’ve always had an iPod. When my last one died I got 160gb iPod from eBay. I like a dedicated music device. I like to have my phone free for phone stuff. iPod is often plugged in to a stereo. Also battery lasts forever so cross country flights, long drives etc are no problem. Also it’s easier to navigate than a touch screen. I like the data wheel and having just one button. 4. throw some lil'xan in the mix and the mumbles will be off the hook and chain fellow kids.
  5. not saying i wasn't looking for a pinch of salt when watching it but he sticks to the same timeline and basic stats that the science is laying out for us... 2100 and 4 degrees celsius which seems like a trajectory that makes a lot of sense the way things are going. as for the collapse of 'everything' i think we'll hit several tipping points along the way that will change how we live.. more than just banning straws. likely some things that most of us don't think about like widespread contamination of the romaine lettuce supply ;) there's already more romaine lettuce growing and waiting to be harvested.. the caesar salad shortage cannot last. obvious things will be water shortages. once the glacier retreats over the mtns between india and china that ganges will dry the fuck out. i'm more optimistic about energy supply and future technological advances. lab grown meats and all that. if it takes off in a big way we'll have various kinds of protein and only super rich people will be able to have actual cow meat or something... pretty sure we'll have what seems like a long period of chaos and suckiness for lot's of people. if we push through that then our descendants will have the opportunity to exist in one of many possible dystopian worlds. edit: also i find his voice is too close to that guy who did the "zeitgeist" documentary which was totally debunked in like 1000 ways so anything w/that voice makes it hard for me to take it seriously. i think that guy started some kind of cult.
  6. so true. though it's not full of the normal "russian speaking english" structure. could've come from that guy in maine who just makes shit up all the time.

  9. also, kashogi criticized trump early on so he probably doesn't give a shit and if the world wasn't watching he'd probably call up the prince and have a laugh about it. he's probably playing at politics but also playing at his own personal bottom line which is $$$$ and "they spend a lot of money with me buying 40 and 50 million dollar apartments..." or whatever it was he said.. also i'm sure the arms dealers in the USA picked up the phone and said "c'mon what's one journalist compared to hundreds of millions of dollars in our pockets.. btw we'll contribute to your campaign in 2020" btw saw a story today about how trump wanted the justice dept to prosecute not only hillary abut also james comey and any of his political rivals. this guy is a tyrannical toddler only motivated by money and power. can't even take 5 minutes when visiting the remains of a burned out town in cali to get the name in his head before speaking his gibberish.. fucking shitbag.
  10. lolReading that he was briefed on what was on the tape but choosing not to listen to it was, for me, the most humane act this orange weirdo has done. But you know it wasnt an act of humanity it was an act of squeamishness. He’s talked a few times about how he has no head/stomach for blood. The interview on Howard Stern years ago when he talks about the guy who split his head open in the ballroom at Mara lago. He says he’s not the person to want around when “it comes to the medical”. It’s not surprising he didn’t listen to the tape. It might persuade him to go harder on Saudi prince. He needs some plausible deniability down the line. Also he doesn’t take his job seriously so why should he bother making himself uncomfortable in order to be fully briefed and fully aware of the situation. Even if he listened to 20 seconds of it and said “ok I’ve heard enough”. Meh. This guy is such a wanker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. when i lived in san diego there was a studio that got robbed. some dudes booked a session for start time at midnight.. explained all the complicated reasoning for that time slot.. they showed up and pulled guns on the staff. tied them all up.. stole everything int he studio including the console. they had a big moving van arrive once they were ready for it and just hauled it all away and left everyone tied up. morning staff discovered the tied up engineer/assistant/runner and the empty studio. ya never can be too sure about people ;)
