  1. "Incomplete without audience noise" You guys are awesome btw
  2. Nice! Holy shit, I had the magazine that this was printed in. I had it pasted up on my wall as a teen ? I bet I still have it in a box somewhere. I'm moving this month. If I find it I'll take a pic/scan and share it here! I always loved this quote, it has had a lasting impression on me: "Like a tree seems to be like an inside-out lung sticking out of the ground. "
  3. I've prob listened to PLUS as many times in the past two days as I have SIGN in the past couple weeks. But it is also making me like SIGN a lot more!
  4. Tons of familiar sounds in ecol4, still sorting them all out. I think it would fit right in on NTS. Around 10 mins there's that coughing snare from osla for n and glos ceramic, like the latest incarnation of it. Love that shit! And something right in the beginning sounds like prac-f? I think? Maybe deco loc ? EDIT: definitely prac-f

    Rob pls

Dear Robert and Seanathan, May I express my utmost gratitude to you both. Sincerely, Yours truly, Thx, Toaoaoaoad
  6. So if they really are that attentive to WATMM, maybe the sudden release was to spare us all another 100+ pg thread of ridiculous speculation
  7. lmao @ the lazer gun sounds in ii.pre esc
  8. The Autechre Twins are always a few steps ahead of us, thinking of a big picture we can't see yet. It comes into focus with time and digestion (and by then they're already onto the next thing). SIGN seems so much more substantial already, alongside the PLUS material. We really are spoiled! EDIT: also lol at all the comparisons to BOC's rate of output. Not mean spirited or anything but, how agonizing it must be to still be clinging on to them lol
  9. I have no idea lmao I'm not knowledgeable about gear really. Just lushness
  10. lux 106 mod more like lush 106 mod amirite
  11. I'm still working on SIGN , but PLUS is an immediate love. Vegetables are just easier on the system I guess!
  12. Coincidentally one of my tasks of the day was to process these two huge bags of beets that I bought. Perfect task for first listen! I can hear it! Those wheezy sounds? EP7 competes heavily for title of my fav [album] of theirs so this is a big win. Fkin love this so far!
  13. Holy hell this is nice. Day officially derailed. Wake n bake time. THX SUE & RHONDA !!!!!!!
  14. Me: "On wednesday I am gonna get up and get a bunch of shit done" *logs in to watmm* ....
  15. Rumour has it that, to counter the unwanted popularity from SIGN, the green album is a single 58-minute-long fart (but with a bewildering amount of fine detail "buried" in it)
  16. What kind of "guide to Autechre" skips an entire 10 year span including some of their most significant output (confield/draft/untilted/quaristice)?!
  17. Yeah, xflood as an opener is puzzling. Just slamming someone in the face right off the bat? Usually there's at least a few seconds of barely audible sounds before that happens
  18. There's a lot of hate for bnc Castl. I thought it was silly and annoying at first too, but in the end it is redeemed by its sheer unique-ness. I'd say the same for a lot of Quaristice, and I guess in the end what "clicked" about the album is that it works best taken as a whole, so the weaker tracks and wtf moments are parts of the bigger picture. I like the shorter track durations for that reason. The same could be said for NTS except you're having to endure the less likeable tracks for much longer, and less likely to take in the entire picture in one sitting. I can see four of seven as another one of those wtfs (like bqbqbq or fLh) and they each fit into the bigger diverse picture of NTS but it's harder to just let them go by as it's an 8+ minute investment and aural fatigue is a real thing?
  19. Sadly I don't know if I'll ever be able to enjoy four of seven (apart from the last couple of minutes). The timbres actually make me physically uncomfortable, namely the "snare" and the high frequency/ringmod sound that accompanies it, although tbqh I find the whole arrangement offputting. Just can't listen to it.
