  1. Ok good. I understand them not showing you the video, but their reason doesn't make sense to me either - if they know you didn't see the burglary happening, why would you be required to identify a suspect in a line-up. I would then just suggest that if you see any suspicious activity around your place, call the cops again. You should have an incident number from the burglary, let them know it could possibly be in relation to that.
  2. Report it to the Calgary Police, with all the information you have, including all that stuff about him buying smokes on video etc etc.
  3. Have a bunch of mint growing in the backyard, and some rum kicking around, so had mojitos last night. Lovely in the late summer.
  4. https://www.propublica.org/article/ike-perlmutter-bruce-moskowitz-marc-sherman-shadow-rulers-of-the-va Just some good old fashioned cronyism.
  5. Maybe it only appears as if they are acting in unison? The reality is probably a domino affect, the others were just waiting for someone to lead. Regardless, these companies have terms of service, and are within their right to prevent someone using their services if they deem those terms violated. If Jones believes he has been wrongly denied access to the platform, he can take the companies to court. I am sure there are many willing lawyers ready to go to work for free on his behalf. Also, I am 100% certain that the “right” wouldn’t be taking the stance the “left” is taking if it was someone like say...Noam Chomsky (as another individual who offers critique of state power) who got removed from these sites.
  6. Having not watched any of either “side”, the point is this: Facebook et al. are private companies. They are well within their right to deny Jones the use of their platform. If the government was actively preventing Jones from exercising his right to speech, then there would be an issue. Jones is welcome to host his own content on his own site. Why this would bring people from either “side” to the table as if it were some contentious point is not clear.
  7. Nowt empty here fella. Still having good times! Don't get old. Adulthood is when childhood turns into a corpse. Yeah, lol, guys. I just recently quit my job, put all my stuff in storage and yesterday flew on a one-way ticket to South Africa. And I'm 39. It's a possibility that I'm in my forties when this trip is over. I have no planned end date. Granted I very rarely go to parties anymore. Couple of beers in a bar and a bit of smoke now and then are enough for me. I'm more interested to going to the desert in Namibia and climb them dunes. And I might be freelancing while I travel if I find customers. I did a similar thing in 2015 for 8 months so it's not like a "big life changing thing" anymore but I really love to have this kind of off-year once in a while. This is the third time now. Yeah that's all cool..I'm talking about, you don't want to end up like this guy.
  8. Cleans room amorally ponders if room actually exists
  9. Fucking squirrels and chipmunks keep getting into the garden and pulling vegetables off the plant. They don't even eat the vegetables, they just in there to fuck things up. Going to have build a serious fence and roof thing this weekend. re: Kerouc "On the road". when i was living abroad, I had a discussion with a friend that i met there - another Canadian. He said he didn't rate it that highly cause he'd already traveled the world by then - much more than Kerouac had done by his age. Which to me is missing the whole point of the book. It's not about the locale - it's the experiences and relationships that you build in life. And yeah, that kind of hedonism is good fun, for a while, but after some time, you just get to be like that 40 year old guy gurning his teeth off in a grim club. I'm currently listening to Frank Ocean's "blonde" record a lot - and I feel like you can't get that album unless you lived some in the party scene, and experienced the resultant emptiness at the end of it.
  10. Reading through some of this stuff, truly fucking sickening. Manafort has some serious issues. The money laundering that Trump did for the Russians is nowhere more obvious than in his casino operations.
  11. The really crazy thing is that pee tapes would be minor "kompromat" given the potential scope of possible crimes, including money laundering, collusion, treason, etc.
  12. Kind of different - the otter box ones are great for more demanding workplace environments, or if you're out camping/hiking what have you. I work in an office, and try not to use my phone as much as possible during outdoor activities - so for me the caudabe ones really fit the bill, especially of not adding bulk (I know you're ok with more bluky though mr vanderhooj) and good price point.
  13. Dunno if you bought your case yet or not but caudabe makes some good ones. Minimalist like: https://www.caudabe.com/collections/iphone-8-accessories
  14. http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2018/07/star-s-black-hole-encounter-puts-einstein-s-theory-gravity-test Cool shit.
  15. It’s awesome the gays finally have someone to look down on.
  16. Don't forget to consciously raise your frequency first though. *blink blink*
  17. That's just straight up manslaughter, or possibly second-degree murder. Fucked up.
  18. At the very least send him one of diatom’s “who member” posts a day.
