  1. 1) Yes it is. You can really appreciate the drum programming when it's slowed down. 2) Here's a good tip for everyone who is using Audacity to save slowed-down versions of tracks: Download foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/), it's a free audioplayer that have been my staple since I abandoned Winamp god knows how many years ago. Then, download this dsp component: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dsp_effect and put it in the foobar2000/components folder. One of the dsp effects that you can now use is called "Plaback rate shift". Simply set this to what percentage of playback speed you want. I tend to go for something pretty mild, such as -11% for Papat4. (DSP effects found under preferences -> Playback -> DSP Manager). Now you can change the playback rate of all your tracks on the fly and don't have to store edited versions of them.
  2. Having listened on my pirated copy for so many years (I was a pre-release bonus or limited release or something that I missed, can't remember actually) I will now have to buy this, and you should too! Why? Because it's brilliant that's why. Totally magical music for driving on a country road or riding a train at night. https://bogdanraczynski.bandcamp.com/album/muzyka-dla-imigrant-w Oh and there was a bunch of more re-releases from him as well: https://bogdanraczynski.bandcamp.com/
  3. When CIRKLON 1 first came on my reaction was very lukewarm, but halfway through I found myself vigourououysly nodding my head and tapping my foot. Listening for the fourth time now and I'm loving it. I understand people referencing some of the Analord stuff, but my first thoughts where that it sounded like something from Analogue Bubblebath 5 and other releases from twenty years ago... So playful!
  4. Can't edit my post (guess it's too old now) but just wanted to add that I pre-ordered the CD. Am I the only one? :) The reasons being that my existing Aphex collection is in CD format and that my record player is broken.
  5. I don't want to just be a boring lurker so I'm just going to say that I'm very much looking forward to this. Pre-ordered so that maybe I'll half forget about it and then get a nice surprise when it shows up!
  6. Am I the only one who has "luke vibert spiral staircase [future music competition] [afx remix]" as his/her favourite track (I think...)? If they never collaborate on an album together they should do a double album release where disc 1 is Richard covering Luke's tracks and vice versa on disc 2.
  7. Yeah. The fact that I initially thought that Cottage4 was a new track really makes it clear that I didn't really keep up with the releases the first time around. It's awesome!
  8. I haven't posted anything in this thread for a long time but now I feel the need to once again say thank you Richard for all the music that you put up. A lot of the Soundcloud tracks I will listen to for the rest of my life, and that is something quite special that you have done for me. Thank you! Man I'm gonna look stupid if he doesn't lurk this thread.
  9. [youtubehd]2ukcG-7MYgM[/youtubehd] I will assume this was one of the videos whose links now are dead, because I can't believe how people could say that other tracks from this EP are better, this one is to me a timeless classic and probably his best. #2 might be Flogans Code Part 2 which I also didn't see posted (maybe I'm out of touch with the common Ceephax-listening man) [youtubehd]_Now1NotAeY[/youtubehd]
  10. Nighmail 1 sounds very much like "2 Remixes by AFX"-era to me. I love it!
  11. 1985 -> 2015 = 30 years 30 * 365 * 4 = 43 800 tracks! And that's not counting the leap years!
  12. Well, it seems that I also have an eight of clubs birth date, which of course means that I understand Richard and his work a bit better than the rest of you... Seriously though can't say that I find that the description fits me very well... "natural business sense" huh... Anyway I just felt like I should post something after these latest uploads because I feel that they are overall just getting better and better, and that is crazy exiting. Thank you so much Richard! Also this is probably the most "communal" experience I've ever had with a bunch of strangers on the Internet (as communal as it can get when you lurk in a thread); it's fun!
  13. New track, "4 Acid Organ" up now! Why did I check the page before I went to bed...
  14. Well congratulations past Parsifal, your wish came through! Went to the SC page earlier today to listen to some tracks and there where 40(!) new tracks... And amongst them, there it was, Heliosphan. So fucking great. Made my day week month. There is so much stuff to listen to now, better start exercising and going on a Ray Kurzweil pill diet. P.S. I don't know why everyone wants the "scratch-remix" of Windowlicker (although it is nice), it's the version in the credits that is the shit! I think a longer version of that is my #1 wish right now.
  15. I was just thinking about posting some "now that it's all over" post but then I update the SC page and there's a new track and it's fucking great. You da man Richard, you da man. (Also now I feel bad about not really having listened to Sorry I Make You Lush. Listening on Spotify now!)
  16. This starts out with the dark version but transitions to the (I guess) "light" version [youtubehd]7x32A-JtzmI[/youtubehd]
  17. Oh man, that dark version of Girl/Boy is really making me hopeful for the live version of Heliosphan to come out. I remember years ago writing a post about how he should release an album with "updated" tracks (a la Kraftwerks "The Mix") where that could be included, but if he drops it on Soundcloud that is just fine by me! P.S. I think I might prefer the dark version to the original. Could be the novelty, but time will tell.
  18. I hope that when the torrent of music stops, there will be zip that you can download that the community agrees on is the whole thing sorted, tagged, commented etc correctly, because I barely have time to listen to the stuff, much less download and organize it... Edit: Also:
  19. I didn't discover this was happening until today, and my productivity has been down at least 50% because of it... And now these Peel session tracks, it's unbelievable. Thank you so much Richard! And now what is this, Bradley Strider outtakes? Herre jävlar...
  20. Ha, I uploaded that vid immediately after release :) you can still read my excaite in the description lol. There were rumours it was Ceephax because Global Goon told watmm about it around 2003/4 (the thread is now gone but the post has been preserved): "the first one is ceephax. He used to live in the room opposite mine. He spent about 4 months working night and day on that track - going through endless variations and numerous complaints from the landlord who lived below us." Yes, that's the post I read :) It's available on Bandcamp, fucking perfect: http://ceephax.bandcamp.com/album/psychtapolis-acid-cormorant
