  1. lol for the first 2 minutes I thought I was watching a really wacky comedy, then suddenly it got really dark, really fast. Such a bizarre scene. Love the random count in that has absolutely no bearing on the actual tempo of the song, over and over again. Hilarious.
  2. Oh no :( Did you figure out who it was? Did they get a stern 'talking to' afterward? Just yell the following at your band mates, verbatim:
  3. The first Mars Volta full length is so unbelievably good... and then they just turn into a massive wankfest? I don't know, I'm only just finishing album #3 of my MV revisit. I recall The Bedlam in Goliath impressing me when I first heard it, which is next in the discog. But I didn't keep listening to it much after that initial good impression, so we'll see. I'm not sure If I ever heard the last two albums. But man, Deloused is so fucking good. So crazy technical, yet so memorable. Maybe Rick Rubin has magic powers afterall?
  4. And here I thought I was a culinary pioneer of sorts! We should have a grilled cheese cook-off next time you're in town. Or I'm in town.
  5. The name this random band name generator came up with for me is too awesome for me to actually use in any of my projects. But it's almost worth inventing a new one for it: Petite Blue And The Digital Shutup. I'm guessing the genre would be Post-Vaporwave.
  6. That sounds very tasty. Just add some ham to the middle and dip it in tomato soup. Fry that ham first and replace the tomato soup with salsa and I'm sold. Oh shit I'm going to do that next time. PS I came here after frying up my second ever exterior cheesed grilled cheese sandwich. Still awesome.
  7. I've been playing guitar for two thirds of my life, but I only ever pick it up to write, rehearse what's written, to perform, or to record. The exception to that is when I listened to nothing but metal for a year and wanted to be able to do the machine-gun riff thing for extended periods of time. I got pretty fast, but could never maintain the speed with enough accuracy to be satisfied. I do wish I had put more practice in when I was learning the instrument... but I guess I always used it as a means to write music before anything else. Wouldn't really consider myself a guitar player. I can't shred or do bluesy shit to save my life. My solos always consist of melodies I'm envisioning in my head -my fingers can never just go off and do their own thing.
  8. I discovered a way to bring your run of the mill grilled cheese sandwich to the next level: slap a couple extra slices of cheese to the exterior sides and fry into a crispy crust. Fucking gourmet.
  9. Recording solo acoustic guitar by myself is fucking painful. If I notice the slightest rhythmic deviation or even a hint of a string ringing out that shouldn't be I get furiously angry and have to start all over. Plus the action on my guitar is unreasonably high, so it is literally painful as well. This will teach me to write and record a song on a whim...
  10. Aaaaaand one of the pegs went missing. Insert an hour of me bumbling about the room looking for a peg before giving up and grabbing one from a different shittier guitar.
  11. It seems like I've been cleaning and restringing my acoustic guitar for hours. This would probably be a half hour job for a normal person.
  12. I already know the answer to this, and it is "in tears." I guess that only answers how. As for when, I guess it's when everyone's crying. Then you will know it's over.
  13. I had this poster in highschool, and would have voted NIN in a heartbeat. Still would. "Bad luck fist fuck" would presumably be the campaign slogan.
  14. I just cooked up the flesh of my left thumb. It hurts. Don't do it, watmm. Pain is bad.
  15. Is it resting on a perfectly level surface? If not, that might account for the problems. They can be tricky. FWP: first Halloween without my girlfriend of 10+ years was lame (excluding all the ones prior to said girlfriend). I had a nap, facebooked, and went for a walk with some 90's music that did not age very well. No signs of Halloween were to be found, save one goth chick walking alone. I will never know if she was a bonafide goth chick or a non-goth chick dressed as a goth. But I will always wonder.
  16. I'm thrilled to have introduced someone else to Numb. He's from Vancouver, where a lot of great industrial seems to originate. Apparently he moved to Vietnam to live with his wife, and that = no more music for some reason I can't understand.
  17. I'm more drunk than normal and I reuined the quote-chain-thing and I might have a problem. Of the first world variety. That is also stupid. And I am dealing with it. Now.
  18. Whoa, this sounds so much like Numb! or at least an instrumental version of it. Numb was my favorite industrial band after Skinny Puppy. I haven't been able to find much industrial I like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_NV19Qm2HY
  19. Why is it wearing a yamaka? (apparently spelt yarmulke)
