i'm surprised the other guy they mentioned in that article never got the attention he (imo) deserves. haven't seen anyone around here talk about "Jace Connors" aka ParkourDude91 aka the man behind Deagle Nation but that buzzfeed article (and the one they link to that they did all about jace) illustrates exactly why deagle nation's body of work is doomed to obscurity. the left wing idiots at buzzfeed (and across youtube as evidenced by comments still left on their vids to this day) couldn't see the blatantly obvious joke behind it, and ironically missed the point that deaglenation was created to mock the real or imaginary mt dew guzzling gamers/gamergaters who love guns and fantasize about being ex navy seals. the dude was doing something that the people at buzzfeed, and lefties across youtube and against gamergate should've actually sympathized with, but were too retarded to see that it was (blatantly obvious) satire (hilariously culminating in this comedic masterpiece that resulted in brianna wu claiming to have got a restraining order against and threatening to sue jace, who isn't even a real person) sad, because imo the fact that he stayed in character for years is pretty impressive, especially with how absurd the character was, and there are some pretty hilarious nuggets in their output.

ive been thinking how ods and ccai2 didn't have tracks that were for whatever reason as memorable, for me, as the eps from the 90s including ventolin and come to daddy mainly. both of those eps had a lot of pretty simple tracks on them that didn't show off loads of technical wizardry but were still great. which i think is mainly down to the melodies. just after a couple of listens to cheetah ep i feel like some of these tracks are closer to that level imo he's obv become focused on using these old analog synths and drum machines and honing his use of them, paring back a lot of ornamentation type stuff. seems kind of a pattern some artists get into, like guitarists who get away from having tons of effects and get more into just playing guitar as they age. just getting better at their instrument (not sure it has anything to do with age and maybe he actually has crazy dsp stuff he just isn't releasing). it might be boring for some who'd like to see mental beatz, fx, edits, etc, and i loved the mental stuff on drukqs, but i think my fav tracks were always stuff like flim with nice melodies being the main draw. i respect that he's doing what he wants to do even if i don't always like/love it but i def like this

I would've purchased it to play it on the deck, but after seeing the price (+ shipping), I'll just wait for the CD to appear at my local shop. Notice Recordings (label) sells tape recordings on chrome and cobalt tape stock for approx. $8 apiece.. same with Drag City, for more novelty items (DC uses normal tape stock)... paying upwards of $30 for a novelty just isn't realistic. Cheers to all y'all collectors complaining about the price of a limited Aphex release kek whatever it costs it's gonna sell for twice as much. There's no losing money. It's an investment its not an investment if you don't plan to sell it, and maybe even intend to actually.. play it. then it just becomes a tape that's twice as expensive as any other
