I've seen a lot of these things pop up over the years, and they're oversimplifications by nature, but this one seems especially random. There are more things wrong about it than right.

I remember the one that Pirtek posted; I almost bought that one cuz yeah, at least it looks cool.

Here's another one for you nerds:

I never understood why Americans get their kids to make macaroni pictures - seems like such a bad medium, bad colours, doesn't sit comfortably on paper, the glue will make it all lumpy. Glitter also sucks tbh.. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere

Agree, fusilli are far superior.

I only follow Hugh Mughnus on Bandcamp, but every single thing he buys is shit.

That makes more sense, it reminds of those neural maps where you have inputs/outputs and the connections between them.. would be cool to scale this to cover a wider range and then be able to change the spectrum you're focusing on.. that would be a huge project though, it would have to be crowd or AI generated

Does anyone have a good faith interpretation of this thing that popped up on Facebook?? Who would make such a thing and why? It seems weird to say that everyone orbits kraftwerk.. but I often hear them mentioned as the originators of electronic music - but wasn't the radiophonic workshop doing stuff before that.. I don't know much of the history. Any good documentaries about that?

Obviously Aphex would be orbiting about 20 other suns, and be knocked slightly off-axis by hundreds of passing mini-planets... As would everyone else probably...

It's pretty cringeworthy obviously but how would you revise it? What's wrong with it, what's right?

Re documentaries:

BBC Radiophonic Workshop: The Alchemists Of Sound (2003)

(edit, doesn't like the embed for DM: www.dailymotion.com/video/x5579ti)

Synth Britannia, focused on the UK, but v.good.

Another BBC 4 documentary this time on Krautrock

Kraftwerk, and the Electronic Revolution

Techno City

Short but good, talks about influences etc. Has the bit in there from Derrick May about George Clinton meeting Kraftwek in an elevator.

High Tech Soul

The Ballard of Don Lewis

Just a trailer, not easy to get hold of, v.interesting.

I imagine a watmm meetup is just a bunch of guys one at a time holding up a meme on their phone and then the next smirks at the meme and shows another one and so on
