BobDobalina Posted May 19, 2009 Share Posted May 19, 2009 Man it'd take some balls to go through with a 5 or 10 or 24 cd release, I hope he does it simply for the brazenness, especially if there's another 5 year cvj hiatus to follow. At the same time he's not exactly a household name so I can't imagine there'd be much to lose. I'm not really into Pan Sonic but their 4 CD concept album was impressive with each disc sort of permutating into the next... I liked that Autechre also chose to release quite a lot with Quaristice, though it was unfortunate that so much of it was just subtle variations of tracks, which left a lot of people feeling like they were bilked into buying the same thing multiple times (at this stage I'm actually quite happy to have missed out on the steel case deluxe edition). I'm sure there are a lot of other deluge releases (electronic or otherwise) that I can't think of at the moment... anyway this type of shit would be pretty cool provided it's half decent (I can't imagine this not being the case), I like how it'd force you to plan/adjust your intake of the music, as in you could gorge on the discs in succession or ration them out across the span of several weeks, giving each one a rotation for a while, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
