A few Zomby updates:

New EP 'One foot ahead of the other EP' out 24th August. I'll assume this isn't common knowledge as it hadnt been mentioned here or in the Upcoming Releases subforum.

Artwork looks something like this:

photo3ozd.jpg

Couple of tracks available to listen to, Bubble Bobble, and Helter Skelter

Also, Pandora's Box, which I guess should have been released on Where Were You In '92

Zomby subforum plz. I'll mod.

unreleased version of the La Roux skreamixed trk that got him the gold, fucking love this trk!

much deserved...

can't wait for new Zomby!

Fuck, that's horrible.

I bet a lot of these dubstep producers are great producers but sometimes their choice of vocal and lead synths is horrific.

She probably chose Skream to remix her track but whatever, I dig some diva singing every now and then and this is track gets better with each listen...

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I couldn't see if it had been mentioned previously on a brief search of these 60 odd pages. I don't know a lot about dubstep, but I know what I like. I heard this tune on a Caspa mix recently thought it was mint, so there for you to check out really. I reckon it's pretty cool.

As far as I know it's recently relased.

  • 1 month later...

Now that this thread is more or less dead, the New York Times has finally discovered dubstep:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/22/arts/music/22hobbs.htm

from ny times article

sometimes the transitions were a little sloppy, and sometimes this impromptu duo and everyone else onstage with them — several dozen at the night’s peak — were so thrilled at the first few seconds of a song that the D.J.’s stopped it and let the crowd shout until they started it anew. That’s when another sign came out: “Rewind!”

For a genre already so given to abrasion and angularity, it wasn’t the best strategy

, i'm so glad i haven't witnessed this in a real life dubstep set yet, i would scream at the dj

You'd probably be drowned out by everyone else shouting for more in apprieciation mate. It's annoying when a DJ canes the reloads in a set, but it's part of the culture. When a rewind is fully asked for there nothing wrong with one or two in a set, if it's justified.
