Nothing special. The M83 soundtracked trailer for nightwatch makes it look a lot better than it actually is.

edit:not seen daywatch

Ive seen night watch a few times a couple years ago. I found it to be generally pretty enjoyable, though i cant remember what i particularly liked about it. Still waiting to see daywatch

I like the fact that the director is called Timur Bekmambetov. It would be a bit like having a German director called Adolf Hitler if it wasn't for the fact half the population of Kazakhstan is called Timur.

they're pretty cool movies. not the deepest i've ever seen, but they're very interesting to watch. generic dark vs light storyline, but i can forgive that.

anybody know if they'll make the third movie ever or has timur moved on to bigger, better things (like 'wanted'...LOL!)?

i thought the little opening scene after the flashback in nightwatch was freaking excellent but after that 15 minutes was over the movie was horribly disappointing, cliched and boring as fuck.

I am really sick of vampire movies, Let the Right one in being a tiny exception

saw the first one last night. it had moments of greatness but spread so thinly amoungst the confusion, bullshit and bad acting thatit was easily forgotten. although saying that i did watch it dubbed in english which i didnt want to but there was no other option. the english dub was incoherent so we had subs on too. i know that can ruin a movie but i can't imagine it saving this shit

i didnt like this movie.

got the second one to watch but i'm going to not bother.

thanks watmm for another disappointing recommendation. also i think Johnathan Ross recommended it too. idiot

wanted felt mentally ill to me. I get the same feeling watching Luc Besson films. What is it with these Euros who wear their neuroses openly with seemingly no self-consciousness? Freud was Austrian; Euros are supposed to be edumacated...

I liked Nightwatch, nothing special, but interesting.

Daywatch just felt weird.. the ending was simply wtf

(the books are still great btw)

I saw trailers for these watching the After Dark Horrorfest films.  I watched Daywatch first, and had no idea what I was seeing, but it all made sense after I watched Nightwatch.  I can see why they called it the Russian answer to the Matrix, though; crazy conceptual stunts and a different mythology.  I also liked the concept of Others and their individual abilities.

I would still recommend them, IRARI.
