We here in the UK (not sure about anywhere else) get it one week before everyone in the U.S. so I thought I'd share my thoughts. The first film was pretty entertaining, and the novelty factor of seeing GIANT ROBOTS doing that transforming thing that they do was great to watch. Whilst Revenge of the Fallen has some entertaining set pieces, Michael Bay has gone way OTT in this film, and the results are often, I'm sorry to say, kind of boring at times. The humour, which did hit the mark a few times in the first film, isn't funny, it's annoying. The 'crazy parents' should have had much less screen time, and some of the dialogue is atrocious. The plot is weighed down by exposition, it wanders at points, and this causes the film to sag. Some of the action scenes, whilst kinetic, have too much going on in them, and you kind of stop caring. Oh, and whoever is responsible for the jive-talking autobot twins should hang their head in shame. Entertaining in bursts, but the first one's better.
