(Imagine Julian Casablancas being interviewd walking around Harlem, waxing lyrical about ethnic food shops) Sure enough it turned out she was quite well connected, mother is an actress and father is a bigwig in music/tv pr or something, can't remember. There's also a faceless producer behind her, with connections to Faithless (so possibly Dido as well), and they started out as some angsty singer songwriter type schtik. La Roux is dire electro pop but there will be some kids on here who dig it and will be afraid to admit, its the kinda shit i expect gets played regularly in the kitchens of Pizza Hut or the stock room of Argos.
