basically every "your favorite movies" thread ends in a imdb top 250 reshuffle, not that it's illegitimate or something but i'd like to see something more geeky and personal, movies everyone dislikes but you !

a bonus if it's panned by rottentomatoes and metacritic as well..or any other reputable review source

i actually can't think of anything right now myself, will come up with something later..

i hate that imdb is always taken as a reference. but the actually the top 250 is not that bad. people still have some good conscience when it comes to rating a movie.

the list lacks some tarkovsky tho. specially nostalghia.

IMBd is shit. Some movies I like under 7.0... Blissfully Yours & Tropical Malady (ok, they have just 7.0) from Apichatpong, Eli Eli lema sabachthani directed by Shinji Aoyama and A Nest of Gentry directed by Andrey Konchalovskiy (for curious ones: this is an adaptation of the Ivan Turgenev's novel and the cinematographer is the same person who worked with Tarkovsky on The Mirror or Stalker. Pretty good movie)

i just looked and william friedkins 'cruising' only averages 6.1/10 and that film is completely amazing. a very complex piece of work.

...well shit, his film 'the hunted' averages at 5.8 and i love really love that one too. basically almost everything hes done besides 'the exorcist' and 'the french connection' is underrated.

i personally think lynch is very hard to criticize because it's so subjective. but its not impossible.

Buffalo Bill and The Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson. I'm a big fan of Robert Altman, and I love this. Plus Paul Newman, Burt Lancaster and Harvey Keitel all in the same film, ffs.

I'm also a fan of Spielberg, but I think I'm the only person on the face of the planet that loved War Of The Worlds.

That is twin peaks the movie, not the tv show.

and we all know the consequences of making a movie out of a successful tv show.
