Guest disparaissant Posted August 9, 2010 Share Posted August 9, 2010 really quite a sad song, though! reich was, IRL, harassed, arrested, had all his writings burned BY THE GOVERNMENT (the -US- government) and was imprisoned in a mental hospital, where he died. i mean yeah, the guy was a nut toward the end. but that's not really in keeping with the first amendment now is it? anyways, yeah. he went nuts, the government came for him, and this song is based on his son's account of his arrest. before his nuttier later days he was a contemporary of/collaborator with such notables as Freud and Jung. Apparently, the British (+ a lone female Wisconsinian ) see her as the crown jewel of human kind and I went back to see what the fuss was about. I remembered stuff deep in my brain e.g. "runnin' up that hill" and this song being sampled by Utah Saints and Chevron sampling her also. I do agree that she was very innovative and forward-thinking; avant garde at times apparently. She's got a great voice too.
