Beautiful man, very Deaf Center-esque ... It'd love to be able to programme (or use recordings of) strings as good as that. As always, so delicately and precisely composed & produced.

Nicely done, Squee. Very subtle and detail-conscious.

edit: Great panning, too. I a rabid LCR enthusiast and I'm always happy to see it in practice.

Thanks, man! :)

The panning actually happened by mistake, but I liked it :)

Uh, I like Deaf Center, so thank you :) Haven't listened to any of their new stuff, though.

Damn that was lush. I'll say it again: LUSH.

Hehehe, thanks, man :)

McCarthyism was just a ploy to divert attention from Area 51.

Wha?

You focus in on the details without losing the big picture, very well done!

Thanks! I'm really glad you guys like the details :)

Whoah. I get the distinct impression that I'm listening to someone who knows his craft very well. Everything sounds meticulous and effortless.

Hehe, thanks :)

Well, back to work!

listening to this whilst gazing out of my window onto a rain soaked, grey city vista...could be on the soundtrack to a movie about the end of the world...melancholic and haunting...very well done, it's splendiferous.

Uuuuh, that's perfect! I worked on part III yesterday and it's even more soundtrack-y than what you've heard from part I. But I think the artist rejected that bit, so...

But thanks, man :)

We want an album/EP Mr. Roque!

Working on it :)

Lovely stuff

Thanks, man! Appreciate it :)

Nice as always :)

Thanks, man! :) As soon as I'm done with my EP we need to get that collab up and running ;D

I've uploaded Part IV as well now. It has a more positive vibe and is a bit more "classical"... and a bit more droney...

Ooh, this one is more Rafael Anton Irisarri-ey (which is a very good thing) ! I've been meaning to ask, are the strings/other acoustic instruments recorded yourself, are they sampled from another source, or are they virtual instruments ? (or would you prefer not to say)

p.s. My only 'criticism' is the clicks of the sample buffer retriggering (though maybe stylistic choice. Maybe use a transient designer and increase the attack slightly to soften the clicking.

p.p.s Just reheard it in the context of I/IV and obviously it was a stylistic choice. Oops, my bad !

It's a mix of recordings, sampling and other things.

Hehe, it's actually not a buffer overrider (or whatever the hell those things are called) that makes that clicky noise. Instead it's a synth that kinda lives its own life. But you're right, some of the clicks don't sound right. They sound as if something goes wrong and not as if it's on purpose. I did EQ the shit out of a bunch of those tracks to make the clicks less noticeable, but I must have missed a couple. Last night when I was setting up the speakers at the gallery I did notice that some of those clicks were way too loud (the acoustics didn't really help either), but no one but me noticed that :)

my short attention spam block me from full understanding this, sorry, my bad. i guess the main harmonies/melodies don't do much for me. that is all.

donnie darko ost, that's what it was reminding me of...

That's fair, man :)

But I do like the Donnie Darko comparison... great soundtrack... but I guess I should have made a waltz instead then :)

Awesome! Personally, I think Part IV is a bit too monotonous compared to Part I. I was actually thinking about adding a sub bass that would slowly fade in and out through out the last part, but most gallery rooms suck when it comes to bass so I skipped that idea.

This is very good. Gives me a strong Bohren and der Club of Gore vibe...

Interesting! I think it was mcbpete who introduced me to Bohren and der Club of Gore and I really like some of their stuff :)

And thanks, man! Appreciate it!

Squee, your music always makes me feel good. all the subtle textures are great.

Oh wow, thanks, Frankie :)

I'm glad you guess are appreciating all the subtle details, because at the opening of the exhibition last night there were so many people so the sound ended up drowning in the sound of footsteps and creaky floorboards.

Thank you so much! I Appreciate it coming from someone who makes such well produced music :)

I'm also really glad that the music triggers all kinds of scenes for you. I've been kind of hestitant about showing what the video installation looks like, because I was kind of interested in knowing what you guys thought of the music itself. Buuuuut, here's a photo from the video installation if you want...

Quality stuff. Feels like something I might hear in a dramatic game or film. Nothing sounds off or out of place which is fantastic :D
