For trade: My Jomox XBase 999 for your [insert your synth here]
by Guest skkatter- 0 replies
- 1.1k views
I've decided that I don't use my Jomox XBase 999 enough to warrant keeping it, and as money is becoming so worthless nowadays I thought I'd try to swap (or "trade" if you're an American) it for something else of comparable value. I'm based in Berlin so a swap with somebody in the EU would probably be easiest. The 999 is in perfect working and cosmetic condition and is just over a year old, I'm the only owner (I bought it from Thomann.de so it's still within it's 3 year warranty). Smoke free studio and all that jazz. I'd do a straight swap for a Monomachine MKII if anybody is bored of theirs, or something of similar value (or else less value and you add cash, or more …

TB 303 with Midi Mod issues
by Guest VAP- 9 replies
- 2.5k views
Hi everyone. I picked up a used roland tb 303 with the midi mod off of ebay. Its worked great with midi up until recently where my patterns are all screwed up and play the wrong notes. Using the the internal sequencer also randomly messes up my patterns. Anyone know of how to fix this or of any online place to send it? I live in Texas so there aren't any local places that service vintage gear. This has made me very sad :unhappy:

Yamaha GX-1 For Sale
by Guest bundle of sticks- 10 replies
- 4.6k views
Hello. I'm finally selling my GX-1, after years of beloved use . I feel that I've scrapped the bottom of the barrel with this ol' bird, and it's hindering my creativity. It's an amazing machine, but the time has come to let it go, and pass it on to someone who can make better use of it. The money would be nice too :wink2: Some info: I bought it from a guy named Alex Monroe in 97, who lives in Birmingham, which was absolutely perfect for me because I lived just outside of Sheffield at the time. He owned an independent recording studio, and collected rare music equipment, which he would use for his own music. Occasionally he would allow friends to use it for recor…

bid on a few things on ebay - i needed another sequencer - anyway I won two! so the QX21 may be up for sale if anyone would like it. basically a two track MIDI sequencer, but you need to plug a keyboard into the MIDI in, then press record on the QX21 and record whatever you play - the sequence can then be routed to whatever you like via the MIDI out port. has quantization and all the usual sequencer functions....

Playing music from a laptop (cables/ soundcard advice)
by Guest blutac- 6 replies
- 1.5k views
Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on playing music from my laptop. I've been using the headphone slot to connect my laptop to my amp with a budget cable. Seeing as I've got a pretty nice system, and the shoddy connection is messing it up a bit, I'd like to try and sure it up. I think I need: Good laptop to amp leads Maybe some kind of usb soundcards - do the ones that look like memory sticks do a good job? anything else I should know about? Willing to spend maybe 50 quid for everything. No stupidly expensive wires! thanks

Midiman was the company that became M-Audio. I was looking through some old magazines from 2001 or so and saw ads for this. It was promoted everywhere at the time but never came out and I forgot about it. Looked so promising and ahead of its time, since there wasn't much out there in the way of midi controllers at the time. The pads on the right side were like pressure sensitive ribbon controllers that used fiber optics to transmit midi CC and anything else programmable. Kind of a cool idea, but M-Audio eventually nixed it. I want one.

so, you're tired of that same fucking sound your piece of dusty, ebay scavenged machinery's been farting out for the last few years. you think "oh, i'll just do it like RICHARD D JAMESTWINS and ram a few pot meters and screws into it to make it sound fresh and electronic music again" and decide get to work on making your amazing custom dream synth 4000. or do you? i'm wondering if anyone of you started your own modification work on any type of gear you have? i'm mostly skewing this towards the analogue end of the setup, as digital modification obviously would be mostly directed towards software alterations and deal with a very different method of implementing sound g…
