  1. New episode 4 of Andor. I'm starting to sense a pattern here. Extremely boring set-up / filler episodes before you see any kind of conflict or action. Not horrible or anything but nothing to ring home about - you may end up scrolling through your phone or WATMM.
  2. Yea agreed. This episode kept me more interested - i did enjoy it. But the amount of cringe scenes in this show is hard to ignore.
  3. Track that I made almost 10 years ago now, noticed it wasn't on Youtube so threw it on.  Not gonna lie, it's kind of a jam.

  4. Andor. Agree it's a slow burn to start, the first two episodes dragged - but in the end I didn't mind it. Gave you some time to learn about the ecosystem these characters live in, their motivations, their backgrounds. Really laid some great groundwork. Then EP3 came and that was really good - worth the wait. I do get some Mandalorian vibes in how it's a real gritty form of Star Wars. Underworld stuff, not always pleasant. The only thing I don't really love with all of these prequels and such is that what the hell is the point if we already know what's going to happen. There's far more interesting material to get into in the Star Wars Universe rather than just filling out the story that we already know. Regardless, i'm on board. Excited to see where it goes.
  5. Awesome news. I was a Constantine FREAK. Loved that movie so much.
  6. I wish I could say the same thing. It's like watching a wood carving act. Her eyes and face do not even move, just her lips when she talks. It's like staring into the creepy eyes of an old doll.
  7. Same. I'm not really in love with his Pop / Rock stuff. If I can get 2 or 3 folky acoustic type tracks on this album then i'm a happy man. So i'll hold judgement on this one. Are you sure that Vignetting the Compost didn't see a 2021 Vinyl Repress? Discogs.com and Online Stores are saying it's out there. Man I love that album too. For instance FYE says they have it and it's in stock.... Odd. https://www.fye.com/bibio---vignetting-the-compost-aec.wrp330.1.html
  8. https://bleep.com/release/326497-bibio-bib10 "Bibio is an artist who never likes to stay in one sound for too long. His humble beginnings producing lo-fi folk-tronica transformed dramatically into the hip hop inspired kaleidoscopes of his Warp debut Ambivalence Avenue, launching a series of constant shifts from intricate house beats to dazzling funk through to haunting ambient soundscapes, often all within the space of one album. While the quintessential Bibio sound may be hard to define, the guitar has stuck with him throughout all of his sonic experiments, and it’s what he pays homage to on his milestone tenth album. “I like contrast between my albums,” says Stephen Wilkinson aka Bibio “When I finish an album, I crave doing something different for the next one.” BIB10 is perhaps the most outwardly pop Bibio has ever leaned into, delving deeper into the funk and disco direction previously hinted at with releases like 2016’s The Serious EP while his natural pastoral folk inflections still shine through. Though the slick riffs of tracks like ‘Off Goes The Light’ are dressed in fuzzy CRT television colours, they never fall into the trap of sounding nostalgic, featuring refreshing songwriting that can only be placed in modern day. A metropolitan energy flows through many tracks, such as ‘S.O.L.’ with Olivier St. Louis’s silky, infectious vocals, or the sweet rotations of saxophone and guitar on ‘Cinnamon Cinematic’, trading jubilantly extended solos with each other. Elsewhere, Bibio’s hearty folk origins appear on the intimately drifting ‘A Sanctimonious Song’ and the acoustic ode to analogue on ‘Phonograph’. Both of these worlds are glued together in ‘Rain And Shane’, where lilting violin lends simultaneously wistful and soaring melodic refrains to twirling electric guitars."
  9. Album snippets here. Super laid back stuff. Almost trip-hoppy.
  10. Don't hate on Gnork. Still rockin' this track- As far as this new track, sounds like something you could've heard from Ai Records back in the day. Not bad. Looking forward to the rest of the album. Gnork - Inner Ride (LP) by blorp music
  11. New LOTR series - Went into it expecting complete shiite, but was pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong - everyone saying the dialogue and the writing is atrocious are all right. Everything else though is fantastic, the cinematography, CGI, world building. I don't really despise the casting like some do, except for Galadriel. This woman sucks, super wooden, no emotion at all, i don't believe her one bit, seems like she should be acting at a corner community center not this level. Also, sorry if i sound shallow, but I don't think she's attractive enough to be Galadriel. Cate Blanchett was an absolute show stopper in all ways. This one though, about plain as could be. If you aren't sure about it after the first episode, at least give the second episode a try. It gets pretty good! I even got some Fellowship vibes.
  12. "The Stand" (2020), Anyone see this one? Just about finished it. Gotta say I actually liked it quite a bit - which is surprising because it looks like it's rated pretty badly. It's like a mix of Devil's Advocate and Lost and throw in the apocalypse. If you are always on the lookout for Sci Fi's like I am, this one is worth a try.
  13. Have not liked one release of his after Butter, and this is now in that boat. Can't vibe with the spastic rave / trance / techno vibes. Never liked that stuff back in the day and definitely don't like it now. Prime Hudmo to me was Polyfolk Dance EP, he made some real bangers back then. Shout out to Rustie as well. There's one thing you can't deny about Hudmo though, he's got a great ear and is super creative. This might not be for me but keep it going man.
  14. Locke and Key Season 3. Not bad. Season 1 was special but they were unable to replicate that in other seasons. The lore is still pretty awesome though - makes me want to maybe get into the graphic novels. Not saying that they phoned it in this season but... It feels like they phoned in this season lol. Only a few episodes in though so we shall see.
  15. Is / Was Danger Mouse the most overrated hip-hop producer of all time?   Never thought any of his beats were special.

@d-a-m-o I got pretty much laughed out of an MF DOOM forum for saying this.  But Dangerdoom was a complete snoozefest of an album.  I only kinda-sorta liked one track on the whole thing.  What do people love about this producer?

That 2003 DM & Jemini Lex album was nice, everything else is lame as fuck.

I bought that Dangerdoom album on vinyl when it came out, listened to it twice and sold it.  It didn't help that it came out so soon after Madvillainy, the contrast was really stark.

  16. Trying this show on your recommendation. Liking it so far, but yea the pop-rock soundtrack is a let down. This could be insane with a futuristic / idm / backdrop.
  17. The Sandman. I'm surprised they didn't replace the lead character with a black trans pansexual paraplegic. Joking aside, it's alright. Gets pretty boring at times though.
  18. Alright I labored myself into season 2 of The Expanse. And STILL this show sucks ass. Nothing redeemable about it at all to me, nothing that's made me want to keep watching. I'm done. No idea how this has such amazing ratings.
  19. I grew up in a funeral home family and was a funeral director for 10 years. people kept telling me to watch that show but no thank you - i've lived it so what's the point.
  20. Exactly the same here. Honestly the first episode I didn't dislike was #8. I literally had to watch that many hours of a show until it became watchable. ??. I'm that desperate for a new show haha. We shall see.
  21. Trying for like the 3rd or 4th time to watch "The Expanse". The first few episodes are so muddled, boring, and unlikeable. I've made it to Episode 7 this time hoping I might push through to where it becomes good....
  22. Just binged all three seasons of "The Leftovers". Holy fugg that show was depressing. Of course i watched it during a low point in my own personal life so it made me feel even shittier lolol. Not a bad show i'd recommend it to any fans of sci-fi or Lost - just get ready to feel overcome with sadness and emptiness for a while.
