    Phoenecia

This album still owns, some of my favorite electronic stuff and such a weird and unique atmosphere to the whole thing. Almost as visual for me as Chiastic Slide. And the artwork is so cool too.
  2. Nice find! Aren't the chaps remixing SND around now? I believe Awepittance is our resident expert on that.
  3. Damn, Gemmy is pretty sick too.
  4. Been listening to Joker's Purple Wow mix and it has opened me up to a whole new bunch of stuff. Purple City comes out this week and it's a killer. G-Funk synths ftw.
  5. I met Puzzleweasel a while back while he was on tour in NY, nice dude.

Off to see the show, will report back later.

Sucks that it's just audio but his Larry King impression was one of my SNL favorites too

A typical roasting is telling the nastiest, most offensive jokes about a notable comedian or person and they just have to sit there and take it. Norm's performance is ridiculous because everyone expected him to bust out his most offensive and raunchy material, and instead he goes with awful g-rated cornball jokes.

God, I've been looking for that and the shrimp one for years.

He has the grace of a swam, the wisdom of an eye, and the eye of an eagle. Ladies and gentleman, this man is for the birds! Ridiculous
  11. Norm used to be one of my favorite performers on SNL, definitely the best anchor in my opinion, and Dirty Work has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. He's kind of dropped off the face of the earth lately after his sitcoms didn't work out, but I guess he's still performing standup. Anyways, it's my buddy's birthday tonight and he's a huge fan so we're going to see him perform. I'm hoping he'll be great but I also know Norm doesn't really give a shit if he bombs and might just make everyone uncomfortable on purpose. That could be funny too I guess. He was always one of my favorite guests on Conan. Later on in the same show where he saves a boring interview with a Melrose Place cast member. Just totally rips her a new one.
  12. Totally, especially Out From Out Where for me Really underrated album, so creepy
  13. Not really anything like ae but both good albums in their own right, especially Finally We Are No One
  14. Seconded, Monolake - Momentum in particular is stellar.
  15. Brothomstates - Qtio EP Gescom - ISS:SA Machine Drum - Now You Know Phoenecia - Brownout Wagon Christ - Tally Ho!
  16. Once again, very impressive. Would love to see your take on one of the "darker" AE tracks.
  17. lol, may it curse their forum as it has our's
  18. I know at least Atop has heard this because I downloaded it from him on slsk, but "2000F - You Don't Know What Love Is" is a shit-hot track. More excellent stuff from Hyperdub, although a drastic departure from their normal stuff. Sounds like Zapp and Roger doing dubstep! http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=158787
  19. Good idea, would love to get an idea of what other people dug this year. Dubstep kind of split into two camps this year, the more traditional one steeped in dub music and reggae, and the fusion with Basic Channel techno which is more what I've been into this year. Not sure if some of these are even considered dubstep but these were some of my favorites from 2008. 2562 - Basin Dub Appleblim & Peverelist - Circling (Bass Clef Remix) Badawi - Den Of Drumz (Kode 9 Remix) Benga - Electro Scratch Blackpocket - Ure A Star (Martyn Remix) Clouds - Shallow Deadbeat - Incinerate Forsaken - Last Saloon Swagger Geiom - Hydropine Harmonic 313 - Dirtbox Headhunter - Birks Range Ital Tek - Archaic Joker - Holly Brook Park Kode 9 - Konfusion Dub Luke Envoy - M.U.G.E.N. Martyn - Natural Selection Meat Beat Manifesto - Children Of Earth Millie & Andrea - Black Hammer Peverelist - Roll With Punches Pole - Alles Klar Scuba - Twitch (Vex'd Remix) Shackleton - Death Is Not Final Shut Up And Dance - Epileptic (Martyn Remix) Virus Syndicate - Be Like Us
  20. Well, it's not a soundboard but this may be the closest we ever get. Thanks man!
  21. wow was brainfeeder empty in LA? shit was bangin out here in sf easily 300 people+ maybe closer to 4 or 5 special guests: lazersword and Mophono/Dj Centipede but kode9 sucked balls serious first time i've seen him and i walked out maybe 4 records in decided to smoke cigarettes until fly-lo went on it wasnt that busy. but everyone seemed to be outside most of the night. when martyn came on you could move on the dancefloor but not outside. everyone was in for lotus and daedelus but it still wasnt full. and despite that they made us queue for ages outside. idiots. plus i never seen valet for a club before. crazy world maybe the club was just bigger in la but i can't tell how may people were there. Sounds like a good show, seeing Martyn on Friday and PUMPED!
  22. Was it a good deal? I think I'm interested.
  23. Oh man, I totally remember those, never even thought of using it for music! *hunts one down*
  24. Been really into the Millie & Andrea EP (MLZ and Andy Stott?) and the Scuba remixes lately (Martyn, Surgeon, Substance, Vex'd, etc.) Some great tracks closing out the year!
