i was just listening to one of the old live tapes of an aphex gig in cornwall from the early 90's on youtube. 2 unreleased tracks... and the account was terminated half way through

i understand they are alien technology from the 80's, but why are we still using CD's? Only reason im considering a CD purchase is for the album swag. Ive had it with CD's. let's leave them behind with Robert Palmer. .They buzz and stop and start like a circular saw in my computer. im sure im alone in this.

back when i was a young'in Warp was THE label. They really had all their eggs in one basket with the artists we all love here. but they didnt release stuff often enough to keep the label going and changed into a totally different beast.

im buying all aphex albums from here on out. i started with CW. no pirating. its clearly had a good effect (not counting the 90's when you were forced to buy albums)

I'm not annoyed that these tracks are on the new release. I just don't want them to be the best tracks on it seeing as I've listened to them forever & thus will lack any major surprise. I wanted 100% surprise for purely selfish reasons. I would agree that the mixes are probably different to some degree & will undoubtedly sound a million times better. I'm hoping Joyrex's foreshadowing implies he's heard Syro somehow & the tracks we haven't heard are beyond the tracks already discussed. But, seeing as Rich has played those tracks in the past to an audience, I would venture to think those are the ones he feels are "best" & what is on the album may be less than. In any case, we have 2 more albums to look forward to after Syro. (looks down from string holding the aphex blimp) ...(takes cigar out of mouth),..."it's gonna be good"

you could have so much fun with Manchester.. i say he pumps it through a bunch of amps into a wooded glen at night with 20 mics recording the reverb. some haunting medieval shit

I want the CD and the 24 bit wavs. Not the mp3's. also, is there going to be a japanese release with extra tracks?

  14. if you take klonopin regularly. like daily. weeeen off. dont just stop. ween off over a period of months.
  15. Thanks for the story Kyo. When I read something like this, I think it's awkward that doctors go so fast for prescribing drugs. Because the way I read it, you waking up crying might have been exactly what you needed. To me it reads like a sign that your past is finally catching up to you and you are getting ready to emotionally deal with it. Growing up with a clinically depressed mother is a lot to cope with as a kid. There might be a huge hidden sense of loss down there, which comes free when realising that because of her condition you didn't get your needs met as a kid. IMO, the only thing those pills do is covering up exactly those emotions you need to deal with. I'm not sure whether you see it this way, but waking up crying can be a good thing. Underneath is a (emotional) realisation. Conscious or subconscious. i disagree my friend. clinical depression is a liar. dont trust its logic. meds are wonderful. they (hopefully) stabilize you enough to see how irrational you became
  16. heeded your advice xxx. glad i did, thanks! :-)
  17. drukqs was the big change for 90's aphex fans. venetian snares was already doing his thing,. so i think he was a big influence on the album
  18. i know Richard has said in the past that he couldnt release certain highly experimental music hes done. I would like to put a vote in as a potential buyer for his experimental stuff. its not the 90's anymore. we can handle it, and i really love that kind of stuff
  19. ill be honest. my initial reaction to this album was like all my first reactions to an expected release from Richard. Sadness and disappointment. I expect one thing and get something else entirely. My expectations cloud my appreciation for a bit. After a few listens i really love it now for its own unique stamp.
  20. thanks joyrex! im not sure what this whole thing would be without you but it might all be a bit more silent and i thank you for the effort.
  21. srry, im retarded. where is my code? is it in an old email?
  22. im curious how much the resale of the record will actually go for. will the scarcity factor be diminished once the music has been heard by everyone? i dont know which album, but i know aphex released an LP with a lock of his hair in limited quantity
  23. i vote give the charity money to our favourite do-gooder Grant at rephlex. I imagine hes always nearly broke while seeing his friend make shitloads of money. there is no shortage of money out there for charities.
