  1. Some people here obsess over Twoism as much as Twoism obsessed over Boards of Canada. I’d guess the brothers are vaguely aware of Twoism and the general level of obsession some of their fans have but it’s not like they’re pouring through threads and watching a small handful of probably decent people but clearly still weirdos get all riled up over numbers and tweets. I guess what I’m saying is they’re a pretty innocuous bunch and have no impact over how the brothers lives their life or approach their music. Who cares, let them be weird. Also to be fair, have you spent any time in the Autechre subforum here on WATMM?
  2. This mix still brings me to the brink of wetting myself every time, it’s so good. What’s the most “recognizable” song on here? Probably Devo or Colourbox? Outside of that I didn’t recognize anything on it when it aired. Just the absolute deepest of deep cuts. I’ll be listening to this for a very long time. Brings me back to fond memories too, warp 30 was happening the week before we had our first child. Seems like both yesterday and an eternity ago.
  3. BoC tunes or not that Societas X mix is legendary and one of the best things I heard last year. I still have it on regular rotation, there are so many legit gems on there.
  4. this track is so fucking amazing.
  5. Yes they do, I should clarify that when I said I’m here for it, I’m here for the release and reaction because it’s awesome and Autechre is awesome.
  6. Any time I need to have a self talk about my BoC fanboi-ism and how I really need to pump the brakes, Autechre will put out some music and the hardcore Ae heads absolutely lose their shit, reminding me that actually I'm not that insane. I'm here for it.
  7. I’ve always thought Slow This Bird Down is one of their most underrated tracks.
  8. Man, all great picks. Whitewater, Telephasic Workshop, and In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country are all top tier contenders for me. Just feelin compound eye so much right now, the organ is just too good. keep ‘em coming! Be well, everyone
  9. Yes I’m aware similar threads have been started and exist. I felt like starting a new one since it’s been a while and times are tough lately so lay off! Jk What’s your current favorite all time BoC track? It’s allowed to change from time to time hence the new thread. In the past I’ve always had a hard time not saying 5-9-78. Honestly, and I know the album it’s on is divisive, I think Tears From The Compound Eye might be the most beautiful piece they've ever done and right now it’s the track I need. It’s psychedelic, comforting, serene, and nostalgic all at the same time. The times feel literally like Tomorrows Harvest but I could honestly use another TCH-esque album right now. Thanks, I know things will all be ok but also never the same again. Watmm has always been a nice refuge for me. Just all about the tunes.
  10. Nice to see watmm rallying behind this album especially after such a bummer of a week! this feels more like a continuation of New Energy than it does a spiritual successor to There is Love In You (I think bleep drew that comparison) but it’s a lovely album all the same. Very meditative which for me personally is a very desirable state to be in given current events. love Four Tet and will always be down to hear what he’s working on. Seems like a genuinely good person, too.
  11. It’s really good! More ambient focused than dancefloor focused which I personally appreciate. Lots of beautiful sounds throughout. It’s 5 pounds on bandcamp
  12. Listening to this now and I think this might be the best Orb track ever and if anyone disagrees I’ll battle you at the earth’s core. Holy shit, this track.
  13. First of all - dammit! Earlier in the thread I said I’d launch myself into the sun if this wasn’t BoC, so here we are I guess. Second - this is a legendary find by the brothers in my book, I mean who finds this stuff? My admiration for this entire mix well overshadows any feelings of disappointment that would even exist over lack of unheard BoC tunes. This mix is so bonkers good and so totally mesmerizing to me. For sure I badly want them to provide new/unreleased material in the near future, but this tape is just nuts it’s hard to keep trying to find ways to describe it.
  14. I think the album is excellent, I already like it more than TMB although that final 2 track run on TMB is unforgettable. Hard to top Eraser due to personal reasons and timing of that release but Anima is a great effort. Several standouts on this.
  15. Just heard the album version of "Not the News", holy shit
  16. Oh one other comment - I got major “Jeremiah Sand” (of the film Mandy) vibes w that second to last track. Which of course loved and marked out hard for.
  17. I'd never heard this track before this mix (of course), it's really, really great. I'm absolutely swimming in this mix right now. I have no sense of time when I'm listening to it. Most of it sounds like it's from the 70s but outside of the ID'd tracks who even knows.
  18. Lol I’m with you upon further reflection and subsequent listens, this mix is absolutely legendary. I wasn’t even sure what I was hearing on the first pass. What a total treat this is.
  19. The song at 57 min. - someone decided to chop 100 onions simultaneously in my house right when this came on it was really bizarre. Nobody can say for sure unless there’s a formal track listing but if that’s not one of their old tunes I’ll launch myself into the sun.
  20. Autechre and RDJ have been setting a pretty unfair standard these past couple years. NOBODY is complaining but it does sort of feel like other warp artists should open the vaults even just a bit. oh and add Paradinas to the list as well as he also opened the SoundCloud gates a couple years ago.
  21. Being straightforward isn’t really their M.O. but I hear what you’re saying and the letdown will naturally turn some folks off. i on the other hand found the set mesmerizing and appreciate hearing then pull some the cover off around their mystique. Some truly weird shit here and it was real fun watching people get tripped up trying to ID some of these tracks. I know I’m not alone here just wanted to share my appreciation. Now, bring on a new album this fall...???
  22. Did someone Shazam this one? This sounds like a boc old tune
  23. Interesting, I read it as a selection of their own material. Always the optimist, I am! Playing other people’s tunes doesn’t seem like their thing. But they obviously have their own influences and favorite artists so who even knows. Could just be 2 hours straight of The Incredible String Band. I’m all in on this in any case.
  24. More of an Oxbow Lakes and Slug Dub guy myself but I appreciate Plateau very much! Terrarum is my favorite Orb album it’s not even close.
  25. This has me even more hyped than I thought possible. God I love these guys.
