  1. As someone who lives around lots of conservatives and older conservatives I'd say they're some of the nicest people I've met, yet if you go to one of their family Thanksgivings you would think otherwise.
  2. lol so nostalgic. Almost as good as Minecraft at night in 2011 under the covers (while your parents are fighting).
  3. Really enjoying Watchmen. Some rough bumps here and there but worth watching for sure. Well haven't seen the last episode yet, but so far so good.
  4. Yeah and the first explosion was supposedly much bigger but of course no one was recording the plant initially and only security cams picked it up. I could feel both explosions from where I was and the first one was scary making me worry about bombs whereas the second was just a small rumble. It kinda makes me grateful I live on a relatively stable planet when there are things a trillion times worse than the explosion happening all over the universe. yeah that's the one. I wonder where the fault lies. Is it due to the de-regulating the govt. has done in the past few years or negligence by a few workers. Maybe both. I know someone who works at a plant in Houston and he said there are scares like this with the potential to blow up on average once every 2 or 3 years, which is insane
  5. if you're asking me about the plant thing, only 3 out of the 30 some odd workers at the plant had injuries. That is surprising when you actually see the explosion. There's a video of every window in a store breaking, the roof caving in, and the door being blown off it's hinges. I don't know what kind of plant it was, people keep calling it a 'chemical plant'. They don't know what caused the explosion yet as well. Mandatory evacuations were called for something like 25 miles surrounding the area as it is now leaking carcinogens. This was over 2 days ago now and they're still fighting the fire. Apparently there has barely been any progress and they've mostly just been containing it. Stuff like this is what makes people wary of embracing nuclear power. In my case I was lucky in that I was far enough away for it not to cause any damage to my house, but it still is crazy how loud it was even though it was 35-40ish miles away. VOLUME WARNING First explosion: Here is the second explosion which happened 12 hours later during the day, which was caught on camera better than the first one:
  6. There was a massive explosion at a plant about 40 miles away from where I live, and it caused my whole house to shake with a deep bass-y sound. It happened while I was studying at like 1 in the morning and I thought for a second lightning had struck the house or we were being carpet bombed. Never felt the earth shake before. Felt like I got a glimpse into how crazy and chaotic nature can be. Then about 12 hours later it happened again when another part of the plant blew up, but not as crazy as the first one.
  7. Yes to all 3. Now that I think of it, the two 'semi-sequels' to Hl2, HL2: Episode 1 and 2, ended on cliffhangers as well. Playing HL2 today still feels more complex, fun, and engaging than the majority of video games today. Especially with the emphasis on traversing interesting environments in HL2. Also played HL2 in VR and it was probably one of the funnest VR experiences I've had even though the game was not made for VR. Partially due to feeling like I was in the game.
  8. In 2030, the eventual sequel to Half life 2 will be called: Half-Life: More than 2, Less than 4.
  9. Oh yeah I know, can't forget PS Now. I still feel like the streaming thing is the next evolution of this kinda gaming, but it just isn't there yet in the same way VR isn't 'there' yet. Now that I think about it though, it seems like PS Now is the best example of game streaming so far. I wonder when we will start seeing (large) streaming packages show up for video and game streaming, say subscribing Netflix, Disney+, Hulu with just one package.
  10. What I'm wondering about the whole Stadia thing, is if it is 5-10 years too early. I always thought streaming games would be a post-2030 type of thing. 2019 seems too early.
  11. Well I have a VR headset so I'll be playing the fook out of the game. I actually played and beat HL2 in VR a few years back. The game was already a 10 out of 10 on a flat monitor, but the VR and world felt so much more immersive even with my old dk2. It made the game twice as much fun.
  12. I don't think they should use actors likenesses if said actor is passed away, unless they said it was fine before death, or the actor is playing a de-aged version of themselves.
  13. New Rick and Morty was enjoyable, you can watch it for free on Adult Swim's website. https://www.adultswim.com/videos/rick-and-morty/edge-of-tomorty-rick-die-rickpeat Oh, and Watchmen show is interesting, especially Ozymandias/Jeremy Irons. It's definitely a slow burn so far. Supposedly it's only going to be 9 episodes, and I've watched the first 3 and feel like not all that much has happened. Still interesting so far, but not really decided if I like it.
  14. Finished up Preacher, really good finale. Only issue was that it was obvious they had to squish 2 seasons worth of material into 1.
  15. Fallout Outer Worlds looks beautiful. Reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077. If video games are going to look this aesthetically pleasing in the future I may start playing them more often. I beat this game in VR in 2014 or 2015.. and oh my how fun it was. Felt like I was there. And this was with the DK2.
  16. It's hard to tell. Netflix also cancelled Bertie and Tuca which was awesome. I think it has something to do with new streaming platforms coming up, and the writing may be on the wall here. I think they had 2 more seasons in mind for bojack before it was whittled down to just 1 large season. This season was for Bojack to become healthy and then the next/final season was for the... shitstorm.
  17. So this went through a whole team of people and they think making it look like a ps3 cutscene was a good idea?
  18. He's also planning a come back and wants to join the comedy circuit again, doing gigs and such. He said it himself in a recent interview, those muscles have atrophied.
  19. The new season of Bojack Horseman is solid... well the new half season. It's being cut into two 8 episode kinda mini seasons. Pulling a Breaking Bad on this one.
  20. Yep, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the intention, lol.
  21. Well you know what I mean, before they naturally degrade in quality from storage. I don't know the first thing about them. Edit: Don't know the second thing about them double edit: 20-30 years
  22. dood, Primal by Genndy Tartakovsky is great. Only on episode 3 though so it may go downhill who knows. But up until now it's great, well worth watching. It's one of those shows where there isn't a single word uttered and still manages to convey what the characters are feeling brilliantly. Though I think it has to do with the fact it focuses on primal instincts/emotions, so at that level you don't really need language. It's about two characters (caveman and a t-rex) trying to survive in an unforgiving world. I don't know. Should have ended at season 3 or 4 or so really. I saw a comment by one of the showrunners and he said he wants The Walking Dead to be one of those shows that are on for decades, shuffling out lead characters and such. It's obvious it still had a big audience.
