  1. It was 1995 and I was desperate to see Eraserhead, had been searching for years, but the VHS was super rare and it wasn't on DVD yet. Luckily I found it on a new site called Amazon.com. I used a credit card online even though that was potentially a "risky" thing to do back then. Ordered it, thinking my prayers were answered. When it arrived I tore open the package to find a VHS of 3 Ninjas Kick Back, which was some terrible children's film of the day. It even said Eraserhead on the enclosed receipt. In my fury I threw the tape at the wall. Then contacted Amazon to explain it all. They said they mislisted the item and did not have Eraserhead. And because the 3 Ninjas Kick Back tape was broken, refused to return it. 3 years later I finally saw Eraserhead on japanese laser disk. And about 4 years after that it finally was released on DVD. Damn you Amazon. You may rule the world now, but I'll never forget.

Decided to buy a TDR print too late. Sold out on both sites. Guessing that's it, my loss, unless anyone knows a place to get one that I don't?
  4. Was just there and scored vinyl, cassette and poster. Didn't have any stickers. But they do have just a few cassettes left if anyone's in the area.
  5. Won't listen to any samples, but the SAW3 references in here make me want to fast forward time
  6. Is everyone buying the cassette as preferred way to listen, or just because it's limited edition? I don't even own a cassette deck anymore.
  7. Just went on and it offered cassette for 16.99. Clicked add to basket and got message that it's no longer in stock. Damn.
  8. The plan to trick watmmers into thinking a new ep is imminent.
  9. Took a little break after fallout 4 but just picked up Uncharted. Psyched for this one.

Honestly is anyone else out there doing music this complex/longform/engaging? The rest of my library is feeling boring stacked against it at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like elseq. That said, if someone asked me why I probably wouldn't be able to answer in a way that satisfies. It's pretty inaccessible. Except for 5, which I find ambient and something to get lost in.

On my first listen, I liked the track, but it did feel overly long. I think it could have easily been ten minutes instead of thirty. I was definitely more into the first half of the track, but the second half seemed to have much less development. It was just a bunch of glitch noises. I'm curious to see how my opinion will change as I listen to it more. Feels like hecker's stocha acid zlook, but doesn't get in my head in the same way.

Which version- flac or 24-bit WAV?
  15. Anamolisa- it's good but I don't understand the critical hype. May have enjoyed more at home. Loved Hateful Eight. Want to see Lobster.
  16. Revenant was pretty good. Appreciate the effort that went into making it. Agree the story wasn't great. Read that the true story wasn't a guy getting revenge for his kid...it was a guy who wants to track down another man for stealing his gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Agree with Ganus. Listened to this a whole bunch since release and disagree with the haters out there. It's not easy to pull this off - it has real, singular vision. And for people and critics making adhd comments, completely disagree. This is a concept album, it tells a contemporary story. Wish more artists could pull that off; I'm taken back to Floyd and whatnot. GoD will have longevity. Critics are dumb.
  18. Amy doc was really good, didn't really know anything about her. But I liked Montage of Heck more. They may be my two favorite movies of the year along with Going Clear and I've never been much of a doc guy. Curious what everyone's favorite movies/films/digitals released this year are. I'll circle back to this with my tops after seeing a few more in the next couple weeks.
  19. The script originally developed for the first Transformers movie partially took place in space, the planet the transformers came from. It didn't work. Spielberg was brought onto the project, and removed the space element. His reasoning was: outer space movies don't work. As soon as you're in a location so remote from ours, an audience's ability to relate is stripped away a few levels and therefore the movie won't be as much of a success. That's when he gave the movie it's premise: a boy who gets his first car. Hired new writers, brought in car-obsessed Michael Bay to oversee, and now they're developing the 5th in the franchise.
