  1. Germany is also helping other countries clear their testing backlogs, they have the biggest capacity for performing tests in the EU now.
  2. I'm sure that his levels of self delusion are such that no matter what the situation or context, his ego would remain unharmed from his own pov.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if he's deliberately tanking his election bid at this point, he didn't even want to be president in the first place, didn't expect to win, and now he wants out. Maybe this gives him too much credit though, as at this point I'm not entirely convinced he's capable of anything resembling a coherent thought.
  4. What do cruise ships have to do with anything I've said? And how are they moronic descriptors? NZ is about 4k km from Australia, 'middle of nowhere' is a perfectly valid descriptor. It's a lot easier to travel between Ireland and the UK than it is to travel between NZ and Australia, or NZ/Australia and most anywhere else. It's a lot easier to lock down an island nation than it is a landlocked one. Ireland sees a much much higher number of visitors per year than NZ does. This isn't a complicated concept, not sure how you're failing to grasp this. I wasn't talking about the size of the landmass, the island of Ireland has pretty much the same population as New Zealand.
  5. The Invisible Man - entertaining nonsense. Successfully pulls off a big sense of tension throughout. Color out of Space - looks great, great blend of computer shit, lighting and practical fx, but a pretty flimsy and not very well constructed story, struggled to hold my interest at times, was checking my phone throughout. Cage goes full-Cage in this as well, as expected, which is the problem - he didn't really pull it off organically, phoned it in a bit. I think it would've worked better if he played it straight, or at least slowly developed into unhinged Cage, rather than flipping back and forth between varying states of unhingedness throughout. Enjoyed the former a lot more. Disappointed by the latter, was expecting a more from it.
  6. There's not a huge amount of air travel going on at the moment you might have noticed.
  7. Don't be an ass. NZ's status as a small island nation in the middle of nowhere is clearly a factor in their ability to handle this crisis. If you don't realise this then you don't understand how the universe works. You mention Australia and Japan, but they prove my point, as they have similarly low rates of infection to New Zealand, in fact Australia has fewer cases per capita (slightly more deaths per capita), and Japan has significantly fewer cases per capita. Other small island nations like Iceland and Ireland have done better than their neighbors too. It's not enough to be a small island nation, you also have to have done the right things too, but it certainly helps.
  8. They just think their faith will protect them: It also helps to be a small island nation in the middle of nowhere.
  9. The fact that the country has managed to hold itself together to the degree it has, despite being led by possibly the stupidest and most ridiculous world leader of a major nation in the history of humanity, is a credit to the overall structure of the place, the checks and balances have worked to a surprising degree, not sure how well they'll hold up to a further 4 years of his nonsense, but even then I doubt it'll leave the place in a irredeemable mess.
  10. If you look at the log scale graph of deaths in the US it looks like it might be starting to taper off (harder to see on the linear graph): So while number of deaths is still increasing, the rate at which it's increasing is slowing down. Hopefully not just a temporary blip, might indicate you'll plateau next week or something.
  11. first episode was good, 2nd wasn't great, and mirrored a niggling problem I had with the 1st episode, and I'm expecting more of this from the rest of them... which is, characters not doing very basic things like talking to other characters to figure out what's going on, help them out, etc. I get that's it's doing this to try and create an enigmatic air to the whole thing, it's still annoying though. it's the kind of thing most tv/movie sci fi always gets wrong in comparison to the written stuff.
  12. He's done nothing for America. What exactly has he achieved in his political career? Aside from preventing gun reform laws getting passed in his home state... He's been a complete failure of a politican.
  13. Ozark is well made and acted and all that, the plot is fucking ridiculous though, these people are supposed to be criminal geniuses but they consistently act in the dumbest way possible in every situation solely to generate the maximum amount of drama, it's basically a classier version of Sons of Anarchy.
  14. There's definitely more of those tracks knocking around, Cylob played a bunch of stuff that sounded like that era in my mates gaff after the gig we brought him over for many years back. I can't remember them that well, maybe some of them came out in the dump already, but there was a load of them, so I doubt he released them all.
  15. It's too short is the only problem. Seems to be a pretty general problem with Lotus' productions these days.
  16. 2nd track is better, nothing too special, but v pretty, nice and comfy
  17. this morricone tune was lush, hadn't heard before
  18. I have 6 bags of 00 flour, a pallet of DOP san marzanos and a pizza steel. I'm set.
  19. this is probably just a bored in coronoavirus lockdown mix mix so far is the sonic equivalent of this:
  20. Say what you want about the tenets of national socialism but at least it's an ethos.
