  1. Yeah, we're just gonna have to agree to disagree here, and that's all I'm gonna say on it.
  2. You're telling me I didn't boycott those things? Thanks for that, I guess…
  3. Tencent own a majority stake in Epic Games, so… Also, just the fact that you must be online to play games is reason enough to boycott it. Then on top of that there's this exclusivity thing. Fuck Epic Games. I won't be buying anything on there, and I won't support this exclusivity bullshit.
  4. The thing about FPGAs/Mister is that instead of a computer program emulating the hardware (like you would with Snes9x or Dolphin or whatever else) it is actual hardware emulating the desired hardware. So if you compare Retropie games with games running on a Mister you'll notice that the Mister produces a LOT sharper images and the sound is also way more crisp - just like you remember it from the 80s/90s. Also, people are using FPGAs to emulate old synths now. It's pretty amazing actually. I'm gonna admit that it's been a while since I played around with any console emulators, but I have experience with Amiga emulation. WinUAE is just as sharp looking as the real Amiga 1200 I have here in my room. I'll also concede I've not played too much around with the sound on both yet. The input lag you're referring to is absolutely to do with the LCD TVs you're using. If you were running a CRT display, the lag would disappear. So the problem isn't with the Raspberry Pi / PC / classic mini system, it's with the medium you're using to display the games on. Even now, I still miss gaming on a CRT. Although my brothers 180Hz LCD is fucking tasty. But it's been well over a decade since I used a CRT for gaming, so I have no idea if the new high refresh rate CRTs are comparable. I've a feeling they're not, because despite the higher refresh rate, there's still the other electronics in an LCD that can cause perceptible lag. are you sure that's all? nothing more to do? also, there's something about getting official product (even the playstation classic) Nope, there's literally nothing more to it. You put the Raspberry Pi in the case, and then that's it. Raspberry Pi cases are not complex things!
  5. Why do you think Raspberry Pi is an imperfect way of emulating games? Why is a PC an imperfect way also? How are these 'official' re-releases (some of which have been found to be using open source emulators that run on Raspberry Pi / PC anyway) more perfect?
  6. already pre-ordered. this thing can't come out quick enough. sometimes i wish i had the patience to put a raspberry pi into a megapi case But, it's just two pieces of plastic, and then you put the raspberry pi in between the two pieces of plastic…
  7. TBH I liked it better than the sequel The New Colossus. Maybe it's because it felt more polished and coherent story-wise. Also Viktor Antonov (who played a key role in HL2's development) was involved in the work on The New Order as well, if I'm not mistaken. Never played the 2009 one though. I fucking love Viktor's work on Half-Life 2! Seeing some of the brutalist structures in The New Order, it kinda makes sense that he's involved. Storywise though, it really is jarring to start the game without any knowledge about what's gone on in Wolfenstein Two Zouzand Und Nein. I didn't realise that when I bought it ages ago. I've gotten into the game now though. Gotta say, yet again, Mick Gordon is fucking RULING games soundtracks. Really looking forward to his soundtracks for DOOM Eternal, and (if it ever comes out) Routine.
  8. Finally started playing Wolfenstien: The New Order, and realised why I’ve had a hard time starting this game previously - because the game just kinda throws you in, without much to go on, and with a load of storyline already previously set by…by a game (Wolfenstein 2009) that is no longer purchasable for the PC. Looks like I’ll have to pirate it then…
  9. Yeah, unfortunately Control is on there. Like I said, works out in the long run because I won't be paying full price for it as I'll just wait for it to show in a sale. Yeah I'm looking forward to DOOM Eternal and Ion Maiden, deffo! Also Prodeus looks proper nice
  10. Yeah, there's the Q2VKPT build that the researcher has been working on, and then there's the build that is based on that which Nvidia have also been working on and adding more stuff to — I think this is the one that most people are seeing at the moment. This is the one that I am looking forward to playing with. The Q2VKPT build is alright, but the Nvidia one is much more impressive. With regard to the Epic Games Store debacle, I'm most definitely not buying anything on that shite, and it's really disappointing that Control is going to be a year long exclusive on there...I was really looking forward to that. It's okay though in the long run, because if I can wait a year to play the game, it means I can also wait for the sale so I won't even be paying full price for it. Fuck you Epic Games.
  11. Nkisi is doing a gig in Liverpool soon, I'll likely be going along.
  12. love the switch. i think what they're doing is great. compare it to vita, where they they were similarly targeting console type experience on a handheld (Sony published vita versions of Uncharted and Killzone, Vita being able to stream games from PS4 and play on handheld) but not even having 1:1 button of a standard PS4 controller (only 1 set of L R shoulder buttons, joysticks didn't click in as L3 and R3). Vita just seemed confused out of the gate, and failing to reach an massive audience never really came as a surprise... which then meant no audience = no one bothered to publish or make games for it. switch out of the gate had a solid launch line up and built an steady player base nice and early (giving publishers reason to want to release games on the system and sell lots of copies). nintendo have also done a lot of great work making the system easy to develop for, and reaching out to a lot of indie developers to get their games on the switch system. i remember reading twitter posts and the like of game developers pretty much confirming that they had been approached by nintendo, instead of the other way around. i also think, the switch being what it is, is perfectly in tune with a lot of gaming audience today, who enjoy playing games while having "content" or something playing on a tv/computer screen in the background. my positive experience with switch may have something to do with also owning a PS4 and a PC. i loved the PS4 at first, but after awhile the asking price of PS+ just felt really shitty + it was also getting to the point of all the games i was interested in were also being released on PC. i tried Horizon Zero Dawn, for example, and thought it was garbage. I tried God of war for example, and i thought it was garbage. Bloodborne was the only exclusive PS4 game i actually cared about and loved. Naughty Dog are good too i guess! But i reckon owning a PC and PS4 has too much overlap and the asking price of needing to pay $80 a year to play PS4 games online, when i can play the same games on PC... online for free.. + better performance.... ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... Like, i understand building and maintaining a PC is a massive chore and not an easy task for a lot of people (myself included) ... but i dunno. I'm very much at a point where a game having amazing graphics doesn't cut it if the game itself is going to be boring. and the Switch pretty much lines up with my needs perfectly. LOL @ God of War being 'garbage' All those Game of the Year awards seem to disagree with you on that point. That’s poorly applied logic, and clearly trolling surely… Have you played it? I have (all the way through; didn't do a lot of the sidequests). It's a great game, and (I feel) very deserving of the praise it gets. I haven't played it no. I also haven't watched Bohemian Rhapsody, but I know that I would hate it. But that also won a load of awards, so I guess I must be wrong? I just think that using the logic of awards = greatness is a bit flawed. edit: btw I love Queen and their music, so that's not why I'd hate it. Well, you're missing out - BR is a great movie, and a wonderful tribute to Mercury/Queen. I guess the way he states "it's garbage" like it was fact makes (triggers) me to point out that person is in the minority about something being subjectively good or bad. Add to the fact that millions of people bought GoW, so likely not a 'fluke' it got the awards and praise it has... Think you're being triggered a bit too easily, he says he thought it was garbage. Not that it is garbage, as a statement of uncontestable fact. But you seem hell bent on this logic, so…

  15. 47 LP version pls, in adamantium hard case. Water cut design
  16. Ehh, it's not really like Instagram — Instagram seems to be very focussed on likes, and how many people are following you etc. It's all very "look at me, my picture got eleventy-hundred likes, and my profile has twenty-seventy-fourteen followers". VSCO doesn't make any of that shit visible to people. It's very much focussed on the photos. Yeah but it's mobile only, right? So, tiny screens and no way to view photos the way they should be looked at. It's mobile only to upload (technically you can upload via the website too, but it's a kludge), but you can view on a computer, for example https://vsco.co/oscillik
