  1. Beautiful! The production is as always top notch. Everything sounds tight and clear :)
  2. I don't like small dogs that much, but this is kinda cute...
  3. That's awesome! Didn't know you had lost your hearing though. How did that happen?
  4. Due to the industrial holiday, it's been really quiet at work so I've been working from home the past two days... playing The Witcher 3. 8 hours straight, two days in a row. Phew.
  5. Downloaded OpenEmu yesterday. Wonderful and easy to use Emulator for Mac. Played a bunch of Tetris NES.
  6. HAHAHAHA! https://vine.co/v/eilelTMWZZn
  7. I used to play tetris pretty religiously for a while, great fun to impress your mates on hard levels, but it fucks with your head to the point that everything becomes tetris patterns. Never messed with TGM, it's pretty ridiculous, like that x-ray effect! Have you watched the documentary called Masters of Tetris? It's pretty good. I used to play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater all the time and would constantly look at real life locations as THPS levels
  8. Next level Tetris autism https://youtu.be/RvlESzCXFCs
  9. Still playing The Witcher 3... ...this fucking game. Man...
  10. Creep - 3/10 What a sorry excuse for a film. Completely fucking pointless and I'm getting really tired of Mark Duplass and his face. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the short runtime.
  11. Someone explain the nitrogen glacier to me. I read some tweets about it yesterday but I have no idea what it actually means
  12. I was really disappointed by this one, the characters in it are ridiculous and undermine everything else. I know Ireland is a bit gimp but fucking hell, what was up with that greasy Chicago bloke? Hm, I really liked it. But hey, I'm a sucker for Brendan Gleeson's face, so...
  13. 48kHz is the standard when it comes to commercials, movies etc. And cameras record sound at 48kHz, so if you suddenly import a 44.1kHz file into a 48kHz project you're gonne mess it all up. Plus, it's the principle. They know absolutely nothing about sound. And I mean nothing.
  14. I've been there a year now, and it struck me about 3-4 months ago how little they know about the business they're in. I'm the only sound engineer there so I'm a one man army who tries to explain people what the fuck they're working with. For instance, I've told them so many fucking times now that every now and then we need recordings made in 48kHz, 24bit. 50% of the time the recordings I receive are in 44.1kHz, 16bit. I'm gonna make myself a website right away and then focus on doing more and more freelance stuff and then hopefully 12 months from now I'll be able to tell my boss to go fuck himself.
  15. Just had a looooong discussion with someone at work about some vocals I was supposed to match up with a song. Alright, fair enough. But the reference mix, which was in a different language, they sent along had a intro that wasn't in the final mix I was supposed to match the vocals to. Jesus fucking Christ. So I told my colleague, and she didn't understand. At all. Then I told her that I wouldn't be able to match the vocals to the music, unless I knew if the intro was supposed to be part of the final song or if it was something they had just accidently left in. I ended up closing my laptop and leaving. FUCK!
  16. what's required to make a new soundtrack? would you have to buy the blue ray to get isolated dialogue and sountrack? Fuck the dialogue. It's stoopid anyway. I mean in general because there's a few movies I'd fucking LOVE to re-OST Rush, for starters....one of my fave movies, but it's got an Eric Clapton soundtrack (after one of the characters dies fucking "Tears in Heaven" starts playing) there's like 10 movies whose soundtracks I would love to redo so now I'm actually curious how to do this Well, it all depends on how it's been mixed. If you're lucky you might be able to isolate the dialogue, since it'll most likely be pretty much centered throughout the entire movie unless someone is talking off-screen and the music should be in the L and R channels.
