btw remember how sean said these were all "old", as in pre-revamp? and it indeed seems like sign and plus are still somewhat rooted in the familiar system, hence the beany artwork maybe, signifyng the connection? makes me all the more curious about the new live set and bummed out we didn't get to hear it in q4 2020 as planned. of course that's an insignificant first-world-problem compared to ppl actually dying or losing their jobs because of the situation but yeah.

OK, i think with a little help from my drugs i got alot closer to the secret just now. but i think you got the order incorrect: it's PLUS -> SIGN. the former gets gradually more emosh and deprovich on sides C to D, paving the way for the soul shattering sign. this and nothing can follow r cazt ever. (despite the jap bonus track being very good in its own right). let's see if/how p1p2 works as bridge. worlds mang, worlds.

don't get me wrong btw: i think the tunes are fucking great for the most part. but i fail to see a unifying vision like on SIGN that'd qualify it as an album. genuinely curious if it's just me. maybe i shouldn't let the term "album" eff with my head too much. when i think about it confield, draft and exai also were quite fractured but there still was a kind of common athmosphere / flow that held them together. somehow i don't feel that on plus, especially towards the end.

Quaristice was brilliant wasn't it. Shows how much simple color choices and typography can communicate. Anyway who gives a shit when the music delivers. (personally i can dig SIGN/PLUS artworks, the latter maybe even more. curious for the real printed deal)

Anyway enough good stuff left to fill plus without resorting to vaguely alt versions of sign tracks. but obviously they wanted them on there instead, despite sitting on other material, so who am i to judge...

ok i still don't get the inclusion of what seem to be remixes / alt versions of esc desc and / or gr4, especially next to each other and so late on the album, it really hampers its momentum for me. they're far from bad as tracks per se (although honestly i'm not sure if they actually add alot of fresh perspective on their originals) but they just don't work in context for me. sure, TM1 seems like a si00 remix, too, but the vibe is vastly different and it just fits as closer. lux can stay as midway breather. this is really my only gripe with this record ftm. (and dre and marhide not being longer instead). soz.

pretty much my current thoughts exactly. while puls is arguably ae doing what they're doing best, and which we the fanbois love by default, sign is more distinctive, adventurous (in context to their discography at least) and also has more of an album-feel (as in cohesiveness, flow and dramatic arc) imo. then again i'm only playing puls completely for the second time now so yeah... XP
