  1. It gets better! Soon, in a few months you can have a coffee and it will make you do productive shit. Just don't have them more than once a week.
  2. Club Module in Tokyo is really very good. Beer vending machine on the dancefloor too! I might head over there soon!
  3. À l'intérieur brrrr/10 Confessions of a Dangerous Mind good/10
  4. If you're just using it for checking facebook and communicating with peeps you could get a cheapo chromebook. The white HP 11" models are very light, cheap and thin, and should reflect heat. would make storage of media a nightmare tho, and be rendered almost useless without a data connection to hand. although 3g is pretty cheap out here and you could tether it to your smartphone. i pay £5 a month for unlimited tethering, have successfully torrented and stuff without getting banned. Tried that in india a few years ago and it was not very successful though.
  5. I've not really ever watched it from start to finish so looking forward to giving it a go as the music and other Lynch projects really inspired me as a kid when all I had was the soundtrack and the odd snippet of stuff caught on TV when I should have been in bed.
  6. Got an i5 in my Macbook Air, seems to not have melted after 4 months in 30+ degrees humidity but I don't feel as confident about it as when it was living in a cooller country. Will report back in 1 year. Maybe alu chassis is the way to go though. And No moving parts if possible, bar the fans. Obv it is very thin and light too, so ultrabook types might be the best travel companions.
  7. Interail has its upsides, but mostly they neglect to tell you: You still have to reserve [and pay a reservation fee] seats on most trains. This means the whole journey you're constantly finding out that the trains for the next few days are full and instead having to make alternative plans, accommodation or different routes... Did about two weeks interailing and it was OK, I have had much better luck travelling on a whim!
  8. Yeh it's a fucking long old country with various islands so I'm sure if you check travel forums you can find out where to go, it seems that places that we're idyllic two years ago are now taken over by loads of businesses vying for backpacker or richer clientele. Obviously nothing wrong with that but can mean that somewhere you were expecting to be quiet and relaxing is now blasting out rnb 24/7 everywhere you look. Obviously some nights out partying with the backpacker crew and long toothed ex pats is totally fun, just not when everyone is 20 and on their first trip away from home falling for every scam in the book. It's better to dress casual and like you've seen it all before and then you are not treated like new blood at every place you rock up to. I've found if I go on a trip with an itinerary it can be more stressful than just jumping on random buses to places and finding out what happens when you get there.
  9. Yes, I've been to Indonesia. My thoughts on it are mixed, Bali and surroundings were not the tropical idyllic that they were when I went 20 years ago, it is now a poisoned, dirty place. So I went further to Lombok and the Gili islands and felt that they, too, were poisoned [not just by shit in the sea but by methamphetamine and other sordid things]. I had a top night out in Jakarta dancing to techno on pills which was pretty awesome. Was a dirty stinky city too. But if you like Bangkok or those touristy areas of Thailand you should get on fine with it, loads of drugs, filth, white people drinking and shouting. Lovely. Probably want to explore deeper into Indonesia if you're looking for nature and tranquility I kept on going more remote and more remote and nothing hardly changed except I was further away from catching my plane. I'm living in Phnom Pehn atm and it's the same, really nice if you put some fucking effort in and mission cross country and/or pay up for a resort.
  10. Lying down with eyes closed got me through years of insomnia. Then they recommended 'Mirtazpine', which fucking works, but makes you demotivated and fat. Now I just adhere to several rules: Wake up at 6am no matter when I get to sleep, no coffee after 12 noon, no red meat after 3pm or so. Works for me. Oh and exercise. Surprisingly, what everyone said all along 'diet and exercise' are wonder drugs for getting to sleep. If I leave it too late, though, and forget to nod off when I am tired at like 9-11pm then I am often forced into this weird brain state where I want to do everything BUT sleep.
  11. That sounds a pain. If done right, long distance travel across Europe can be done cheaply, shorter journeys can be difficult, small train journeys in the UK are unbelievable - like the coaches, only cheap if booked weeks or months in advance. Ryanair.com is the cheap flight mecca, although I believe there are others, and they will, like you say, drop you off miles out of the city [which presents another travel problem of its own] http://www.eurolines.com/ Is a very cheap euro coach service.
  12. I went from London to Cologne recently for 20 Euros or something ridiculously cheap seeing as it was a 17 hour journey including the ferry from Dover - Calais.
  13. http://www.megabus.com/ is usually 20 euros or less per journey, especially if booked in advance. And toll roads don't cross boundaries, you'll have to pay at a junction before the border. Only some sections of some roads are tolled, but these are usually the direct fast routes across large sections of a country.
  14. It's a long way! Only done it in 4 wheeled devices, there will be some parts of it which are not all fun. Tolls on a lot of the roads, too, If you plan it out nicely and avoid tolls and only stay in rural guesthouses it won't necessarily be too pricey. Fuel isn't cheap in west Europe.
  15. You take the bike on the ferry! It's a car ferry, with additional spaces for motorbikes, road bikes AND foot passengers. That's why you'll be arrested for driving off it, after 4 beers on the sea with the waves sending your legs wabby.
  16. You can get a ferry from Calais to Dover for cheaper, much more drinking to be done on a ferry, which puts you in fine steed to be arrested as you disembark.
  17. Fox movies premium was on a roll today. X Men - 7/10 X Men 2 - 6/10 The Wolverine - 7/10 Snowpiercer - 1/10 The Fab 4 - Rise of the Silver Surfer - Erm, lol? Fun /10 What to expect if you're expecting - Chick flick good feels / 10 Beautiful Creatures - Fuck off / 10 [still enjoyed] 2/10 Was a bit of a haul to watch them all in a row, but I couldn't be fucked to change channel after eating a 16" pizza. / 10

    Now Reading

With King novels, the formula is - if it is really long, which they most are, it's going to decline rapidly. It's a shame, because most of them start off so good, that it\s almost enough to carry them for another 800 pages, but if they'd just wrapped things up nicely a quarter of the way in, they would have been the best books ever - unfortunately he starts ending them about half way through, then peters out and rambles for another few million pages and forgets the hole plot. Even with The Stand, IT, and Under the Dome, they suffer from this but I guess the pay off of the first 100 chapsters of those books is enough to warrant ready the other billion bits of crap. Salems Lot, Pet Cemetary, Christine and his plethora of Short Stories / Novellas, all don't have enough time to go fucking balls out shit. Still one of my favourite authros ever, but does he know wtf he is doing or does he just black out and come to with a massive fuck off manuscript, read the first section and go 'it's a masterpiece!!' then send it off for binding? Editors and publisher prob do the same. All hail the King.
  19. I'd put them on their side, underneath something heavy that is flat so they are kept flat.
  20. nonsense. most, if not all places serve it with both, world over
  21. i have started thinking everyone around me is the police, despite having not done anything wrong or having anyone around me the only way out is to arrest myself. brb arresting.
