  1. Yesterday when I scratched my backside it had a wonderful earthy, nutty, singed dark chocolate scent. Today it just fuckin stinks.
  2. The Petrified Forest Loved every second of this, tall glass of ice water with ice for these times of stagnant cinema
  3. right on the money, "good music like Autechre" is an oxymoron
  4. Love me a slice of old clothes with chili on
  5. you paint a fine autumn picture tis the season of dark brews and for summer night bonfires
  6. Meditation on inevitable pineapple must be performed daily
  7. I've had mint and cranberry jello, from a jar, from a supermarket, as a condiment, for meat. So I assume they make it in a variety of flavors. Yeah aspic, meat flavored jello... nasty stuff But anyway. Appreciate the fruit/meat combo and you're well on your way to understanding the merits of the pineapple on the pizza. And, pineapple on pizza. Is it a high or lowbrow dish? Is eating cheeses that smell like unwashed genitals considered high brow?
  8. Most fruit sauces/compotes/condiments etc. meant for consumption with meats (I.e not jam or marmelade) also come in jello form. The dessert thing is called jelly, isn't it? They're nice too, but not with meat ;D
  9. Haha, sorry man, but mint sauce with lamb/beef? Red currant compote with chicken, turkey or pork? Duck l'orange? They're friggin tasty man! bacon fried w/ apples n onions? Oh yes please!
  10. Yeah, avoiding the watery texture goes for other toppings that come in jars or cans of water, like olives or jalapenos. The reason pineapple works on pizza is the same reason apple sauce or fruit jellos go well with various meat dishes, or how syrup and bacon come together to create that very delicious flavor. It provides a sweet counter flavor to the otherwise savory meat/cheese/herb or bitter anchovies/capers/olives etc. flavors typically found on pizzas. And if you time it right you get a nice slightly brown "crust" on the surface of the pineapple chunks, and a soft warm center.
  11. Sounds interesting, am gonna try this pear & blue cheese combo. Those who don't like pineapple on pizza, are you generally finicky with food? Or would you happily eat balut & side order of squid, but just have a weird thing about pineapple on pizza?
  12. Mmmmmm potatoes. Slices of preboiled potato on pizza with the cheese melted over them is heaven. Havin a small, slow brunch of butter & marmite on toasted rye bread, bowl of sliced banana & peaches with a little whipped cream on top and a double tea bag cup of PG Tips with full fat milk
  13. You know sometimes people also put pineapple chunks in baguette style sandwiches. Hawaiian Baguette. Pretty delish.
  14. Mr. Vampire 2 Not much relation to the original other than the jumping vampires with prayer notes on their faces, and a couple of familiar faces, but now playing new characters. Much of the film consists of drawn out wrestling scenes with stiff armed vampires, screaming and shouting (and not in the good, Ash from Evil Dead way) and overuse of crass dramatic music. The result is a big noisy mess, which would have been fine had it possessed some of charm of the original. The Hunted Delish slice of 'jaunt in the woods' found footage. Cozy, scary, decent stuff. The Nostril Picker Early 90s (though looks more like mid 80s) low budget slasher, where a bum who digs booze, young gals and picking his nose is given a magical chant (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_PMI50N2z0) that allows him to transform into a hot young high school girl (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lqjB7DExFWM) wished they had explored the potential possibilities set up by the premise, which was pretty neat, but instead fizzles out into generic 80s slasher style. Trainspotting 2 Pleasantly surprised! even teared up a bit towards the end there, a big old blast of a nostalgia trip. All round a pretty perfect sequel that resonates well with the original
  15. I'm on my second one of the newer model (Clip Sport), while different from the previous generation I don't think there's anything else that comes closer. I don't use cards though, only internal memory. I remember something about the new model not being great with memory cards for some reason. The newer model isn't as great as the old one, more lightweight and generally has a cheap, plastic feel to it. But hey you get used to it, and yeah it's probably still the closest you'll get to the old one. I bought two, so have an extra should this one suddenly conk out
  16. I quite liked David Brent. I felt sorry for the poor bastard. You could call him anything under the sun, so to speak, but in the end he was just a lonely guy trying really hard, I just felt for him, you know? So he became likeable to me, and so did that movie. 3.5/5 Aye it had a really sweet ending :) Gervais just doesn't translate well to film. His series (minus Derek) make for great TV
  17. Ferris Bueller's Day Off 9/10 first time I'd seen this, extremelt watchable, had a smile on my face throughout David Brent: Life On The Road 1/10....... Leaving D.C 5/10 (I have a soft spot for found footage films) Speed 9/10 I was a young buck when this came out and remember falling head over heels in love with Sandra Bullock. In retrospect still one of the best action films of the 90s, so enjoyable, though the dialogue remains sub cheese. Wichita 4/10 most of the film was a let down, 4 stars for the first quarter which was really promising A Cure For Wellness 8/10 maybe it was because I went into this thinking it was a low budget film about a guy joining a cult (way off the mark) but this was quite impressive. I Like how they had the balls to go with a fully blown OTT ending. Get Out 5/10 Despite its subject matter this remains a little..dull. Kind of stiff acting and everything done by the numbers. Nothing particularly bad, but nothing particularly good either.
  18. You should eat more to chock and block and seal your gulletI'm drinking massive amounts of water right now... I'm also considering making myself throw up. Water + full belly = no good. Consider wineHow come? Also, I don't drink alcohol Wow that was a gross read. Have someone monitor your meals so you don't go overboard like this. Also, those ginger shots will burn a whole in your gut worse than any glass of wine.
  19. This morning I noticed just how groovy the 3hour+ eco friendly setting on my dishwasher sounds once it ramps up. Added to the soft soothing repeating rhythm was the texture of water sloshing around inside. best thing since confield.
  20. What they say about old Flory "I am absolutely convinced that Florida will become the most exciting place in the world to live and work." -Rick Scott "We are not exposed to ice much in Florida." -Brittany Bowe "I like Florida. Everything is in the 80's. The temperatures, the ages and the IQ's." -George Carlin "Florida is a place of unparalleled diversity of backgrounds, experiences and vision. It makes our culture unique, but it can also make it difficult to define a common identity and create a sense of community that reaches beyond our neighborhoods to all corners of our state." -Jeb Bush "I couldn't adjust to the racism in Florida." -Sidney Poitier "Florida is a very healing place." -Burt Reynolds
  21. how was your flight? Any problems with customs? How was the: flight company, contents of in flight dinner plate, hotness of air stewardesses, state of your fellow passengers, quality of in flight film selection. Did you fly first class? business? coach? como estas? Did you stop off at the doodee free shop?
  22. Buy some Bermuda shorts some expensive aftershave and listen https://adhesivesounds.bandcamp.com/album/business-travel-bonanza-deluxe and sip a tropical cocktail whilst people watching
  23. Very interesting track on elseq. Enjoy the chilled, playfully squidgy funk up till around the 11/12 minute mark, but after the intergalactic snake charmer has exited the stage, the beat becoming comatose and the track gradually eating itself, shitting itself out and eating itself, repeating until its form becomes indistinguishable from that of its own waste, I really need to be in the mood for its unique style of comedy
