  1. This was pretty awful. Dull, nasty and unfulfilling in every way. Tired of these smart slick, soulless horrors that while ticking alot of the boxes (looks good, good sound etc. not bad acting) are just ultimately so dull and forgettable. Saw Possession (1981) for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't believe I hadn't seen this before. 10/10. best film i've seen in years. Will have to see 'On The Silver Globe' next.

  5. Like, while on Oversteps you could hear them simultaneously treading new territory whilst still having slight elements of Quaristice present. Exai sounds like a mix of various previous ae styles through all their back catalogue, and all glossed over with that rubbery clubby reverb. I don't see them pushing much boundary with Exai. It sounds a bit like they're drawing too much on old formulas, playing it a bit safe maybe, compared to some of their other stuff (esp around 2001-2007). Maybe this was intentional and theu just wanted to have a blast with the album and not focus too much on something totally new, and that's fine. Just a noticable different I think.
  6. I'm not that taken with Exai either. I enjoyed it on first listen through shortly after its release and i've been coming back to it regularly since, but still it hasn't gelled in that special way autechre normally does. Length over depth on Exai, i dunno. of the new stuff, L-event and especially that dilankex remix are far superior imo.

    Confield

Anything really, do you know? Some tracks from Exai sound a bit Confieldy, e.g prac-f (Cfern)

    Confield

Anyone know if they've used the techniques applied to Confield on anything else before or since?

  10. Das Gespenst von Canterville (2005) This seems to be the last trace of Helmut Doring, where he is credited as Camera Department. He only has 2 acting roles, both in Herzog films. He seems to be still alive. I wonder what the little chap is up to these days.

  13. The other day I overheard two guys talking and picked up on the word Numspa. The word sounded familiar and it bugged me that I couldn't place it. After an internet search revealed it being a character from The Golden Child played by Charles Dance I started watching it online. Unfortunately I only got about 30 mins in, it was shite.
  14. The character of Louise, played by Deborah Harry of Blondie is an exclamation mark, reminding the viewer that we are dealing with a real blonde. The deposit left by her cat part of her vision of shit things in store for said blonde. Um yeah no yes maybe. Remember not to poo-poo the "Good Life" warns the salt of the earth straight faced buggy enthusiast cowboy to the smirking hip film director. A portly lady in a downtown office thinks something has bitten her real bad. Billy Ray Cyrus teaches us the perils of not treating your lady right. A mildly miffed neighbor comes along to pick up some of her stuff. We feel bad for the chubby baby faced waiter, forced to partake in the coffee farce of film mogul types. Bright naked vivacious female bodies on a backdrop of dank L.A apartment. Phone calls being made/answered. Trouble within a woman/a woman in trouble
