  1. could you elaborate on this? audio editing is one of the things in BW that has yet to really click for me
  2. checked out Killers of the Flower Moon , really went in blind - my mom had read the book and we went to see the film together (I expected an indie flick, not Scorsese/DiCaprio/deniro etc) and my hot take is that America sucks and I feel fairly sure the Osage murders were far worse than recorded history can portray. and a+ for the accurate(ish) Lucky Strikes Presidential FBI whodunnit radio show -1 star for DiCaprio's mush mouth
  3. big fan of this leaf I found the other day can't help but wonder what kinda cryptid it summons
  4. released Nov 3 https://client03.bandcamp.com/album/panic-multiplier-2
  5. made some witch charms and hung them around the local park yesterday...
  6. The Ritual. 4/10. Sound design was annoying, characters were flat, but it had some kinda cool camera work & I'm a sucker for haunted forests
  7. my wardrobe has almost completely flipped from ripped jeans and t shirts to chinos and comfy sweaters.. is this just part of the aging process?

    Now Reading

just started "The Monk: A Romance" by Matthew Gregory Lewis (1796). Already pretty good and I'm only two chapters in... can't wait for the ghosts, cults, demons, debauched nuns, and general insanity. my kinda romance.
  9. I miss RadioShack I misplaced my millions of 1/8" to 1/4" adapters during my move and in an attempt to not drive way outta the way to a Guitar Center, I've now called a Target (who had me on hold for 5 minutes before dropping my call) and Ace Hardware (who also kept me on hold only to tell me "you should just come take a look, we've got RCA adapters and all sorts of things, it'll take me a while to check"). And everyone wants like $10 for one of these measly fuckers and here I thought they were $2. We oughta leave this world behind
  10. https://suncitygirls.bandcamp.com/album/with-a-beaker-on-the-burner-and-an-otter-in-the-oven really good and very long album. definitely the most accessible project I've heard from a Sun City Girls member, hah. I dunno how to describe it except with bad references to other stuff I like: it's got a weird mix of Mutations- or One Foot-era Beck ("The Reason"), the sass of some of the early QOTSA (and Desert Sessions) stuff ("ILL," "Crackled Witch"), a dash of a twisted version of John Prine ("Dark In My Heart") and even a little Tom Waits ("Smokin' To Live").
  11. just got an email from a friend (well, former fling, but mostly friend) that I haven't talked to in, I dunno, 15 years?? she's gonna be in my area for a death cab for cutie concert (I will not be attending lol) and we're gonna go get coffee and catch up. nice surprise, brightened my day. also I am DONE moving out of my apartment in the city and just got my deposit check in the mail. I'm also done dealing with my shitty old job, finally, and I will be grateful to never speak to my old boss again. gods what a crazy person she is. also it's a really nice day, no work, just finished some household chores and am now in full bored housewife mode, drinking some Day Wine like a lush. dunno who I'm kidding, I'm a lush most of the time. maybe I'll find a lush pad to live in.
  12. saw these guys back in 2009 and it was one of the most incredibly uplifting experiences of my life lol. a bunch of people in the audience couldn't keep from crying (I was eventually one of them). just slams you with positivity. they're not a cult, but if they were, I'd join 'em
  13. my hot take: if you are a working class person, when the government shuts down absolutely nothing in your life will change. they're usually bluffing until the last minute anyways. if they shut down, it's federal workers (some anyway) and those who rely on their services that suffer. the Average Man feels nothing.
  14. it's great. she's awesome. she lives a few hours away and neither of us have had a long distance relationship before so we're figuring that out. lots of phone calls and short visits. I don't connect romantically with many people (neither does she) so this has felt really really lucky. the way we came to know each other involved near Woo levels of coincidence... not about to ignore that.
  15. ^ newsom's hair has always reminded me of Bowser from the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie. like he's Bowser's democrat little brother. not a great look tbh
  16. A Dark Song (2016) was really into it until the ending. keep trying to justify it to myself in various ways but meh, just seemed like a weird change of tone. otherwise ace though.
  17. since the fire near my apt happened and I've been just hopping from place to place, I've started eating what amounts to low value RPG items for dinner each night: bread, cheese, oil, jam, wine. each +5hp and regains a bit of carrying capacity. no cooking required, easy to scarf while a wolf and/or troll is attacking
  18. 100% sure a bug just flew into my wine but it must have drowned and since I can't shee shit through the red, bug meet stomach
