Star Trek

saw this tonight, Abrams did not disappoint. Leonard Nimoy was my favorite, but the new guys brought something modern to the Trek universe. holy shit there were a lot of lens flares, Enterprise looked like the inside of a gay hair salon. space battles were awesome, as were the creatures. maybe the best movie of the summer unless Terminator really delivers.

started out biased against new cats playing the old cats, but then I read a plot summary, so I'll approach it a bit more open-minded.

saw a transformers trailer, looked ok. haven't seen the first one. other than megan fox in daisy dukes, worth it?

waiting for terminator as well.

It's really very good indeed, so much better than I could've possibly have hoped for.

It looks and sounds gorgeous, and the twist means that future film should be very interesting indeed. Highly recommended.

I'm going to see the Star Trek movie tonight. I'm very excited about it.

I'm not a big Star Trek fan, but the preview for this sold me in a big way.

I actually shed a tear when I saw the trailer in the theater. No lie.

Can't fucking wait!

btw

I thought the first Transformers move sucked. I could give a shit about the sequel.

(it is pretty cool that the voice of optimus prime is the same as in the cartoon, however)

this is apparently on line already...

unless your extremely fucking poor dont watch the first cam to come out online... Its some of the best CGI, presentation, cinematography Ive ever seen so it would be dumb to watch a cam of it. the space scene's are pretty surreal if your at a good theater with a good view.

The acting, dialogue and the story were pretty good as well so that being said it would still be enjoyable to watch on a cam but dumb none the less.

Oh yah and I hated star trek just as much as any non star wars fanboy could before seeing this flick.

yeah i feel like jj abrams ran across a store that was selling lens flares real cheap. anyway; a perfect action movie

really 'a perfect action movie' ?

i thought the action was kind of generic even for a star trek movie, the opening scene was pretty cool though.

but yeah i was surprised honestly how low i would rate this on the Trek movie scale.

The guy who played Kirk was good, but jesus the Chekov character was atrocious (it also makes no sense that he was in this movie)

some of the best CGI and cinematography? The beginning space battle in Episode 3 blew this movie away not to mention how much this movie bit off of the space battles in Battlestar galactica but failed to have as much tension.

I was expecting the CGI to be a little more impressive especially after following movies like King Kong but it didn't meet the mark for me.

Really?

I thought the CGI in this is amongst the best that ILM have yet produced. It looked pretty photo real to me.
